Is There Any Type Of Loot I Should Be Looking Out For?

I'm lvl 14 at the moment, and was just wondering whether there was any kind of special drop I should be looking out for & keeping, to sell on the Auction House so that I can make some easy cash.

My brother started playing WoW the same day as me, and he has found out about a drop called "Shadowgem" which he says I should keep hold of because they sell for around 50s at the AH. Now had he not told me this, I probably would have sold any I received, to the vendor for a measly 2s.

On a previous MMO I played, I used to collect seeds which when sold to a vendor would only net me around 100g each, but when selling to a player I'd get around 2000g each for them.

Are there any other type of drops like this I should look out for & keep hold of in order to sell to the AH?

Every item in the game that's not named in gray has a use. Gray items are designed to be sold to vendors for cash. White items are generally ingredients to recipes, reagents for spells, consumables or quest turn-ins. If you can't use them, put them on the auction house. Someone will want them. Green, blue, purple, and orange items are magical, and should almost never be sold to a vendor. Put them on the auction house, disenchant them, give them to an alt, or trade them...selling to a vendor is the least possible reward you can get from one of these items. However once an item becomes soulbound, you can only wear it, disenchant it or vendor it.

i sell in AH:

cloth
gems
raw meats
elemental stuffs (water, fire)

I sell to vendor:
anything gray
food & water
spider ichor
stupid zonewide quest items like green hills of stranglethorn or shreder operating manual pages.


theres more.
also as above, green, blue, purple stuffs can be sold in AH for a lot more than what a vendor would buy it for.

also, drops from chests may have ores and leathers that you can sell in the AH.
