A few days back I downloaded the 500~ meg patch from WoWWiki's mirror list.
(WoW-3.0.1-to-3.0.2-Update)

I then stick this patch and the 992 meg patch (WoW-2.4.3-to-3.0.1-TBC-EU-Update) onto my USB stick, take them to friends house and transfer over to his WoW folder to save him some time.

I then run the Blizzard downloader and let it do the hash check on the files.
30 minutes later it's still on 96%

"Never mind" says I, "I'll get them off the Blizzard Downloader later because I'm out for the evening."
So I get home, rename the old folders and run it again.

I go out for 6 hours, come back and it's STILL on 96%. Refusing to move past 1.52 gig.

(For some reason my mouse also switched itself off and I had to disconnect it to fix it. Despite my telling Windows and it's "Power Management" to NOT allow it to switch off. Annoying.)

Is anyone else having this problem?
Anyone know of a work around?

There was a Eurobug that made it stop at 95% which seems to have been fixed (im at 98% now and counting at a peasly 10kbs) Try closing and reopening the downloader as it sometimes bugs near the end and stops downloading at all, reloading it fixes it, if not then in general, its going to be slow because that final 4% is the stuff that noone else has, so its congested.

If I delete the Background Downloader and then use the WoW Launcher will it download a new Background Downloader?

In the WoW folder, try checking to see if there is a file called 'Bad Piece'. Delete that, then run the downloader again.
