View Full Version : Whats up with the Blizzard site today??

I know they are doing maintenance but the new patch download on my home pc today changed my screens to something with a dragon flying around and it asks me to select a new server and doesnt list my current one (Aggramar). Also the download on my lap top has been running for hours and is only at 38 %. Whats going on??

It's patch day and it's a big patch. I had most of it going into today and just got the rest of it in about 15 minutes including patching time after the download. Servers will be offline for a while more so you probably won't see any realms online.

One word, two pieces of punctuation, and three numbers:

Patch 3.0.2

Today brings about 3.0.2 which is the patch which adds a lot of stuff for the up and coming expansion. The area of Northrend is being added (but cannot be accessed), the new hero class Death Knight is being added (but cannot be made), the new talents are being added (and can be acquired) as well as a host of new abilities and ranks (some may be acquired, some not).

As for the Downloader, there are probably at least several hundred thousand people also trying to get the patch right now. It's going to be a little slow. I don't know of any mirror sites that have the patch up right now.

Here's also a little tip: Make sure you have the background downloader doing its thing whenever it's getting near patch time like this. I had the background downloader running all the time whenever it said it was up, and I downloaded the main patch today in a span of time less then the time it took me to take a shower, about 10 minutes or so.

Blizzards site is being hammered as we speak. As with all patch days blizzard gets hammered and well this is one BIG patch that was issued today.

it's no surprise Blizzards site is being hammered at all since I've been playing wow since day 1.


On an unrelated note: patched up early this morning and just enjoyed Warhammer Online until wow wakes up again :)

Well now it lets me log on and asks me to pick a new relm and doesnt list the relm I have always played in. (Aggramar) Then when I choose another relm my chars. list is empty??? WTF?? Where are my Chars & my relm?

Be patient, it sucks but in a few hours we'll all be online (hopefully)

Are you sure about those 2 points? If thats the case...whats on the DVD that will come to my door when WoTLK is actually realeased?

No one can create a Death knight. That won't be until WOTLK releases, and then you need to buy the expansion and have one characer at level 55.


/2 How do I get to Northrend?

Wait till the expansion comes out. Then the flight paths will be up.


FYI Maybe you should read up on WOTLK (http://www.wowwiki.com/World_of_Warcraft:_Wrath_of_the_Lich_King) before asking random questions...helps you to avoid making a fool of yourself on the boards.:thumbsup:

I believe Jentastic was actually giving us an example of what people will be saying once the patch is up and running.... 1 yell and 2 trade chats which will be asked by every idiot playing the game.

Walk away from the comp. Find something else to do. Return the day after a major new patch occurs, because the day of it will be a complete, hair pulling nightmare.
