Download the file and save it to a location on your "C:" drive. Then unzip the file and take the main folder and copy it to C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns.

For example, TomTom unzips to a folder called: TomTom-r171
Inside that folder is a folder called TomTom. You copy that folder to your AddOns folder and restart WoW.

1) Download the add-on to your desktop. If it is zipped up, use Winrar to unzip it.
2) Right click on your world of warcraft short-cut and click "Properties".
3) "Open File Location..."
4) Click on the "Interface" folder. Once in there, click on the "AddOns" folder.
5) Now you should see a lot of other folders. Now drag your addons into this folder and you should be set!

You don't really need win rar to unzip add on files unless the zip is in a .rar format.

What is a good idea to do is to create a shortcut to your addons folder and place it on your desktop. Then Download your addons (you can download them all to your desktop like I do) then unzip them and whith the shortcut opened, drag all the unzipped folders into the addons folder via the shortcut. Like Khab said, sometimes you might have to go the extra step of pulling a folder out of the unzipped one.

Thanks. I did what you all said and when my char. screen comes up there is now an "addons" button at the bottom left. When I click on it I see my map coords download and when I click on it it says "Outdated" ?? Not up to the new patch?? Is that what this means??

when the new patch came yesterday, loads of addons were made outdated. make sure you have the latest version of your addon installed (you may have to download the newest version again) and if it still is "outdated" then on the character screen in game, click the addons button, then click the box in the top right hand corner which says "enable outdated addons" or something. this should get it working.

Also, if you use a site like Curse you may not find updated versions of all addons.. I had to Google to find a post-patch version of UberQuest Reborn and DruidStats.. and the latter did turn out to be on Curse, but couldn't be found through its own search function.

Ok, I had read that thread earlier. But I had no addons prior to the new patch? Im just trying to install all new ones since the patch. Simple mini maps is working but not the quest helper? Im at work right now but when I get home in the morning I will go thru the steps again but the questhelper folder in the WOW program files looked complete?

Thanks Gorny. You and Khab really seem to want to help us newer players & I appreciate it.

If you have Windows Vista, I don't think it would make any difference if you had addons before 3.0.2...or before this past Tuesday.

The big catch here is that the whole directory was changes, so you might be having problems with the directory itself. You might be installing them into the old directory which would cause them to either appear outdated or not load at all.

Quest helper in itself is still having problems with errors...in fact there are a few mods that are supposed to be updated but still are buggy...the new version of Paranoia is like that as well as Cryo 3's earlier version before today.

For me, everything looks complete... seems to be 3.0.2 related problems going on with addons still. This is a pretty big patch, so normal wont be around the corner so to speak.

Well the good thing is I never had them before so Im not as deppendant on the addons. LOL

I have window XP media not vista. May just have to wait until the addons adjust to the patch I guess.

Correct, but if you overide it by clicking "load out-of-date add-ons" questhelper will run to its original limits. You wont have any support on QH for WotLK and any quests that have been added in the latest patch, but it will run as per patch 2.4
