And I'm getting a new computer @ christmas, aswell as the WoW: Battlechest. I haven't played WoW in 8-10 months and my account is dead. I have a few questions on when I start to play again..
-Should I keep my rogue and enjoy my 5 levels until my mount?
-Or should I start a hunter? I hear they are good for beginners, and I kind of forget everything that I was doing at level 25.
-Edit: Forgot to mention that I also have a 18 or 19 gnome warlock..

Depends if you were enjoying the rogue or not. If you liked the warlock better level it. The extra few levels isn't that big of a deal.

Im fairly new to the game myself. Im working on my 1st Char. a lvl 26 Warrior. I wouldnt give up the time I spent getting to lvl 25 with your Rogue if I were you. If you want to start a hunter then start one and use your rogue or Warlock to help bankroll your Hunter.
It will be easier for your hunter to get started if you use your Rogue to send him some good drops and weapons and $$ as long as he is in the same faction as you are (Horde or Alliance). With the help of your Rogue your hunter will get thru the eary levels much quicker I would say. Also your Rogue is only 5 levels away from his Mount.
Keep him and if you have the choice of picking a new relm pick the US Aggramar server and we can do some quests together.

I would suggest looking around these boards concerning hunters.
I personally love my hunter and do play him a lot more now that they added the new skills, but there are a lot of hunters out there.
People will play hunters because they hear how easy it is to level, which is true. But what this leads to is a ton of level 70 hunters and many do not know how to use their skills in a group. Also if you wish to raid there are a lot of raid guilds that just wont take hunters, not because they are no good, but because they just have to many hunters already.
If you are enjoying the rogue stick with it. I good rogue is awesome!

First you should send my a PM asking for a scroll of rez when you decide to come back. :D
Then you should just log on to your rogue and level it up a couple more levels. Doing this you'll get a feel for it again and then you can decide if you'd like to continue leveling your rogue, or switch to another class.

Hunters are possibly less desirable in the end game.
Rogue is a very easy class to relearn, and also pretty good for soloing, you can skip most content and get to the end of quests easily.

It's very hard to say what classes will be wanted or won't be wanted in endgame considering we're getting new content and a lot of changes are being done to the classes. There are a lot of rogues and hunters out there however. Both those classes have been known to have a hard time getting into groups as they can be replaced by other damage dealing classes. Typically mages as sheep is considered better crowd control.
Hunters suffered throughout TBC as it was a very easy class to level up, but probably the hardest to master. They have made some radical changes to hunter dps mechanics however, so we shouldn't get the case of 1 in 10 hunters doing a good job in endgame like we had in TBC. This was the main reason people didn't want to bring hunters to raids, simply bad experience with hunters that didn't know how to play.

Totally up to you. It's a good thing that Blizzard made this adjustment so now we can quest faster since we get our mounts in the earlier levels.

Hunters are great classes for solo. You have your pet as a tank, while you stand in the back and DPS. They are also great classes for beginners, easy to quest with, and they are pretty nice for raiding. I got bored of my Orc Hunter, so now I have a druid. I had both a Hunter, and Rogue, I think I liked my hunter the most though.

I have to agree that Hunters are a very friendly class to start out with. I don't have a lot of experience playing a rogue, my highest rogue ever was lvl 29, but I remember that gearing up is a lot more important for a rogue than a hunter, especially if said hunter uses the beast mastery talent tree.
A hunter has naturally high damage per second (DPS) and the ability to use a pet to prevent the hunter him/herself from taking damage, hence, better gear is less important than improving spells and abilities.
A rogue must be in melee range to deal damage, and because of that Rogues tend to take a good amount of hits, at least until you get well set in your ways for controlling an enemy. Because of this being hit problem, it becomes important to maximize your Rogue's damage in order to achieve good survivability. To do this, better gear is continually required.
Using a hunter, you can let your overall damage slide a bit without worrying about surviving the conflict.
