Hey Gents, I used to play Wow when it first came out and had a lvl 26 Warrior. Then I had a lot of things go on and well, I haven't played in years. Is it too late to start up a new character with everything going on? I'm not about trying to keep up with everyone but I am concerned that I will just be running around by myself until I hit like 70. I really want to get back into it, I'm just nervous about that. How is the community?

It really depends on your server IMHO, although you likely will spend periods by yourself until you reach certain levels.

One thing to think about is that there will be a large number of people rolling Death Knights on the expansion, which start at lvl 58. So ... if you can get a character to that point, I'm thinking there will be plenty of groups as the death knights go to level up (especially for healers).

1-60 I would expect to be pretty barren though ... unless there are people rolling alts, which I would not expect with a fresh expansion.

It's never to late to start though :-)

Thanks bro, I think tomorrow after work I'm going to pick it up with burning crusade and get cracking. I am married and have a daughter, job and full time student so my playtime is going to be a few hours a night max. But I should be fine. I don't really need to have people around but it is nice to get some help every now and then. :) Now to go through the process of what I want to be for my character.

One of the servers I play on is very active still. I'm not sure what will happen when wrath comes out but there are still plenty of low level players on. You can level up pretty quick now with the increase in leveling speed they implemented a while back so it takes a lot less time.

I sent you a PM with some additional info.

No it's not too late. I started playing a week ago on a druid and he is currently level 31. Just start playing again!

beware the zombies... leveling right now is tricky unless you are playing Draenei... The Exodar is not seeing as much devastation as the other big cities.

Thanks guys, I really do appreciate all the responses. It is nice to know that the crowd is open to new players.

I didn't have any problems with the Zombies. I was infected maybe once or twice, but other than that I was fine. By the way, I played a Night Elf.

There are 11 million subscribers, many of whom are brand new, and many more of whom are playing alts. It's not barren by any means in the early to mid parts of the game. You should be fine if you decide to start playing again.
