Getting Exp Towards LVL 71 Right Now

Out of curiosity, can I complete 25 quests now and then wait till I install the x-pack to turn them in for experience, or will I just get gold for them when I turn them in? Anyone have the answer to this one. If I can turn them in for experience, then it will be a nice little jump start for me, and anyone else who is saavy enough to think of this.

Intuition tells me that you will get XP from the quests.

However, you won't be nearly as far along as you think you might be...Quests in Northrend likely give more XP.

Also, quite a bit of XP comes from killing the things for the quests...which you won't get.

*Shrug* IMO, 250-350K exp/1.5 million exp is still a lot to not have to grind in WotLK areas, that may only be 13-18 or so quests in Northrend, but that's 13-18 more quests at level 80 you get for gold, which Northrend level 80 quests will probably give around triple the experience of level 70 quests so... Around 36g or so each, that's about 400-600g.

I've got about 17 to turn in on my rogue. I was trying to get to 25 but I don't think I'll have time.

Well the blue ppl didnt really answer the question at all, but i have some friends who say this DID work when BC came out, no real answers from anyone in charge as to whether it will work AGAIN for Wrath. So, the official answer (as i wrote this) is... ?????? :T Go figure

Will i get exp for these quests if i do them before exp and turn them in on Nov 13th or no? No. Being able to level up past 70 will require you to upgrade your account using a Wrath of the Lich King CD-key, which will not be possible until the expansion is officially released.
I'd assume I'd get XP, because the XP-or-gold determination is made at hand-in, not while performing the task. Correct.

It looks like the question was pretty well answered. As long as you have a WOTLK account you will get XP for completing outland quests at lvl 70. I was questing in Netherstorm for the achievement and have got 25 completed quests ready to turn in before heading to Northrend. I don't think it is worth staying in Outland to quest but 25 pre-completed quests is a nice boost I think.

Personally, I wouldn't bother - one can easily reap over 400K xp/hour in Northrend simply by doing soloable quests.

Well I have 17 dailies (shattered sun + cooking/fishing/mining and few others) ready to hand in once I load up the expansion. I'm sure I won't get many xp, but every little helps as the man says!

I handed in my 25 pre-completed quests and entered Northrend 1/4 into level 71.

Yeah I handed mine in and got between 9-12k for each Quel Danas quest. Not bad but hardly a major edge.

See, 1/4th of a level is not bad at all. I mean... I'm sure that's probably how the first 80 did it, and how multiple people who will hit 80 soon after him did it. 25 quests turned in, hearth to SW, take the boat, start questing/grinding/whatever.
