OK...how do you create one?

I have heard that you just go the the create new character screen and as long as you have a toon 55+ you can make one. I don't have that option even though I have quite a few over 55.

Is there a pre-requisite?

Have you installed Wrath?
Make sure you log in and log out and then log in again.

You can only make a DK on a realm where the level 55 character exists (at least that's what Blizzard has said)

I have logged out and on.

And yes, I installed Wrath, I stood out in the rain to get it :).


On this realm I am on, I have a 70 a 67 and a 65 and still no option.

Do you at least see the icon for the death knight race on the character creation screen? Mine is grayed out since I don't have wrath installed.

you obviously upgraded your account online I would guess. Another thing you may want to try is creating a new level 1 character. Blizzard said that there could be an error when creating a DK and creating a new character would fix that.

I had the same problem.

Creating a level 1 character and then deleting it seemed to have fixed it for me. Didn't even have to log into the lvl 1 character.

I still have no clue as to why I cannot make one. No option whatsoever.

Mine came right up after I installed it and added the CD key to my account.
You have a character slot open? (not to sound like an ass) One 55+ toon on the account?
Added the CD Key?

I have seen the option since the last patch but the selection was greyed out. I logged in last night after installing and was able to make him.

I would probably suggest that the OP reinstall since it sounds like something is missing.
