Ok im loving levelling and questing, and all the new instances... however...
Im slowly becoming aware of the lack of variety in equipment... for example i have levelled my protection paladin so far to 76, there has been huge variety in hte green quest rewards... however the blue drops/quest rewards have been pretty straightforward... Dungeon bosses only seem to drop a few items each, and i have yet to see any recipe (except heavy frostweave bandages) drop. Looking on various databse sites suggest the same thing...
If you want the best tanking MH go do this quest, then heroics/raids basically every item slot has thus far really only had 2 blue items available and they are usually obivously better one way or the other.
THe Item models are identical a lot of the time, i cant remember how many spikey shoulders and 2 handed axes ive had that look the same....
I see no indication of level 80 dungeon sets....
So, heres what i did in vanilla wow and tbc, levelled while questing/instancing upgrading my gear until level cap, then repeatedly visited/quested in the top end dungeons until i had what i deemed to be a good set to move into raids, or in TBC heroics and raids. This process took a long time at hte level cap, which to me was part of the game... Im pretty certain ill get to 80 and as long as ive quested fully and run al lthe dungeons once/twice ill have a full set of blues ready to raid in?!?!?! and if im raiding that means ive reached the end game.... i expect 80 to come in the next 7 days to me...
Vanilla wow i was at 60 for an incredibly long period, maybe a year without stepping foot in a raid and i had so much stuff to do, long quest lines and dungeon runs...
In TBC again more huge quest chains and rep grinds to get the items i wanted....
What happens at 80 guys?? please tell me you are seeing rare patterns drop? there are huge quest lines to complete? levle 80 dungeons drop more than 3 items per boss??

There are several item sets in place, as well as 3 tiers of PvP gear. More of course will come later.

Quests won't run out for a LONG time as I'm 74 and just entered Dragonblight. Did both of the starter areas, then once I approach 78-79 plan to PvP some and quest both, so that at 80 my honor is full so I can focus on Arena and questing for money.

Even with the levelling 70-80 being fairly quick, there are still dailies and achievements to work towards as well...

well i did howling fjord, dragonblight, just finishing grizzly hills now...Every daily i have uncovered along hte way i have been repeating.
Im not aware of the dungeon (not tier) sets as yet, that doesn mean there arent any but it would be nice to have everything to aim towards. I dont plan to go back and do borean tundra, my paladin is not my achievement character, i will however complete all the higher level areas.
One example of what im talking about is this, there is a quest you can pick up at 74 ( i think) which involves killing an elite, no pre quest etc, and rewards 3 different tanking weapons, according to the online databases i can see virtually no upgrades until heroics.
On the subject of rep rewards, the first items i took interes in were the plate chest sold by the walrus vendor, required level 76 i thought great, did all the quests and repeated the dailies and dinged the rep prior to the level requirement, excellent... however i went into old kingdom and looted a chest which was virtually identical to the tanking chest (1 point difference or something) at level 72 and had to wait till 73 to equip....I sitll want the penguin tho :P
