Addons for the Colour Blind

I have a friend who has recently started playing who is colour blind. They are having great difficulty telling the different coloured texts apart. For example in the quest log, they cant tell which are green or grey, its the same in profession windows etc.

Do any addons exist which will allow them to modify these so that they use colours which are more easily identifiable?

Well, afaik there aren't such addons - yet. It would be a great idea, though.

What you could do concerning quests, is calculate the level difference at which a quest turns green/grey. I don't know it exactly, but say that a quest turns grey when it's 5 levels below you - your friend could then look at the level indication of the quest, and find out the 'colour' that way.

What you could do concerning professions, is get an addon like Advanced TradeSkill Window - it won't be perfect, but it has an option to sort all your recipes by difficulty - if your friend then keeps to the ones at the top, they'll surely get the orange/yellow ones that way. Also, there are sites that have tables telling you at what skill level a certain recipe turns yellow/green/grey, that might also be of some help.

im pretty sure Prat allows you to change the chatlog text color.

You can even change that in-game, without the use of some addon. I know that a friend of mine has changed the colour of whispers to red, and the only addon he uses is Titan Panel. :)

Regarding quests ... I would suggest try Monkey Quest. I don't use it though, but I tried it once and it shows different colors then the normal ones. Hopefully, there should be an option to configure those colors.

BUT ... I haven't played with the Monkey Quest much ... so I am not sure.

I knew about Prat so I was going to suggest that one, also thought about splitting up the main different channel types into different chat tabs which would make things easier to follow.

I will also suggest looking at the quest levels rather than the colours. I dont suppose doing green quests will do him much harm and the grey ones will notify him that they are low level as well I suppose.
