Guys, i have limited knowledge when it comes to stuff like this so ill explain the best way i can...

When i scan the auction, after the final auction has been scanned and step 2 bar has appeared top right, it freezes up totally. Sometimes i can return to windows and i see that wow is not responding in task manager, other times i have to reset the pc to restart wow.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the auctioneer adv programme, with no effect, but have not yet deleted the saved scan data and other auction data.....

Any ideas what could be causing this and a suitable course of action? Had no problems so far using auctioneer adv and im at a loss.

Cheers:smiley:

I've seen this a couple of times. Need to update Auctioneer, but it seems to either be an actual freeze or it's VERY slowly updating. I'll try to let it run a bit longer. This is on the mac btw.

There can be more than one cause of this... anything from Auctioneer (Auctioneer Classic, Auctioneer Complete or the Suite version or even one of it's modules or dependencies like stubby or informant) being currupt or outdated It may even have to do with bottomscanner as well. Bottomscanner is no longer being updated by Norganna.

If you haven't recently updated to the newest verision of Auctioneer you are using ... try that first, and be sure to delete all folders from the old mod.

Next concern is your total amount of memory being used by all of your addons at the same time. You might try turning off some addons when you run auctioneer and see what happens.

Note that Auctioneer Advanced and Auctioneer Classic can run side by side and maintain seperate databases - are you running classic along with Advanced?

I'm betting that the cause of Auctioneer freezing is memory related, you may have too many other mods running at the same time.

I have the same problem, and I have found that as the scanner is running, I have to jump every so often so as not to go AFK and disconnected. The update can take several minutes after the scan says that it is complete. Long enough to dc if you wait from the start of scan. Try jumping during the scan, it will finish eventually and you won't get disconnected. btw, I run on a vista laptop with only 2 gig memory, a tad slow for wow, but I can play whilst in my laz-e-boy.

That's another point, Vista. It uses more memory (alot more) than XP does, so you're going to lag. Especially noticable when you take a flight path that passes through Shat, or if Dalaran lags badly.

Visa with it's memory usage might contributing to your lag problems with Auctioneer. Try opening up the active process list (CTRL+ALT+DELETE) then if the (in vista) select task manager (it pops up by itself in XP or older OS's) and click on any applications that you don't need. Be careful here not to end a system process that you don't need, or you could crash your comp.

Likely processes to end are:

Your anti virus.
Other things that you might have installed that are running in the background.

Look at the user name column to make sure it does not say "System" as most of these are not a good idea to shut down.

Thanks guys...ended up removing auctioneer completely, along with wowmatrix, and reinstalling auc advanced.

I also searched for files including "auc" and deleted wow related ones.

Ditto with "wowmatrix"

All working fine now just lost all my precious scan data
