I know there is a policy to block external links to sites which advertise gold selling. Since forums.worldofwar.net contains ads for gold selling sites <one popped up just this morning $3/1000>. Does the site itself deserve a spot on the do not include links to this site list?

I understand this is a free to use service and I greatly appreciate it being here as it is the only WOW site that I have found which is not blocked at work.

I also understand that advertising is necessary for this to remain a free to use site.

I find it funny that the ads are not screened first. It would be like having a cigarette commercial on the American Lung Association web site.

If it works like other ad push services I've looked into for my own business, the person placing the service on their site has little to no control over the content that gets pushed there. Many of them say they will push ads "only of interest" to your site, but unfortunately most of them wouldn't know a site advertising WoW T-shirts from a gold seller site, or why someone might object to them.

I won't use those blind ads on my business site; I knew a site similar to mine (a site related to pets, so very family oriented) who used one of those and ended up with ads for VERY hardcore porn sites. He ended up losing almost all of his customers overnight and went out of business shortly thereafter.

We're not supposed to have goldselling ads, usually when one pops it's from the adserver that the ads are comming...meaning that there is a gold seller ad mixed in with the rest of the advertisements running.

When you (or anyone really) spots a gold selling ad or any other ad that should not be here, inform an admin or mod via pm and include a screenshot so that the problem can be fixed.

Thanks Ren and Gorny, you got it right. When a gold selling ad slips through the net we ask for it to be removed and it is. But it does happen, as I said elsewhere the other day it even happened to Blizzard recently, so we're bound to get one every now and then. We still stand by our anti-RMT opinion, 100%. So no, we won't be banning links to our own site :P
