You've found the Auction house by now right?

Sell stuff from professions, do quests, run instances.

You'll spend more money than you'll make to be very upfront with you about it. While leveling, stick with dual gathering, once you're 80, then maybe go back and power level a crafting profession, IMHO.

having larger bags may help, so you don't have to destroy stuff. Vendors will buy anything, and it all adds up.

be careful not to spend too much for the bags!

You might be using your ore for engineering...Stop doing that, and your mount will be there quickly.

32 stacks or less (probably much less) of copper, and you have your mount....
