Lag?

Hi all,

I was wondering, how does lag work? I never had a problem with it, but this weekend it has been over 1000. I have a pretty new lap top. I have a wireless conection. I also get my internet thru my cable company. Is there anything I can do to reduce it? Thanks.

Oh also, whats a normal latency? Well whats the highest the game can run with no problem?

Best way to cut down latency is to not use wifi and go via cat-5. Less convenient, but going through air is much slower than going through the cable, can easily double the journey times (that is what latency truely is, just a measure of how long a single bit of data takes to go from player to server to player again) Lower the journey time, the latency, you get less lag.
