This is the sort of stuff that keeps me awake at night, depressed.

It's the sort of thing that will fuel a guy's commitment phobia.

Or am I being ridiculous?

No, this is pretty much it. Unless, of course, you choose not to let this be you.

Get that backyard pool. Go to California. See? So different!

Not a great film in my opinion, midly amusing I suppose.

The thing is, you can make a film like that about any topic, just bring out the old cliches to make everything seem mundane and boring: work, school, sex, wow, making dinner. Just say it in a dull voice and use cliches like the girl in that film.

I think you missed the point of the film. That both sides make compromises that ultimately lead to mild (or more) unhappiness. Of course it need not be like that, but for a lot of people, it is.

Be long enough with a person and the things you love become the opposite. If you loved her free spirit and adored her chaos, she is a slut and a messy in 30 years. If you liked his organisational talent, he is pedantic in 30 years.

Sadly (yes you can work against this) the 90% that you still have in common is dwarved by the 10% where you disagree

Wait...I was supposed to have 90% in common with her?

Well, I guess I was only off by 80%.

This film was unrealistic in that they didn't get sick of each other after 20 years and separate. The fact that they stayed together makes it totally fiction :-))

Yes that is a good point. Subtle conditioning (like a Disney film)?

a relationship is what you bring into it. Obviously the writer of that movie has not yet seen this. Or he just aint funny.

I thought it was funny, but nowhere near reality. And, I think that was the point.

I found it to be way too cliché to be funny.

Something that is far beyond my expection.

If I were "me" in the video, never would I have loved that relationship.

It is reality for some.

There are those among us that have less of a clue about their surroundings and other people.

I thought what it was trying to express was sometimes things don't always happen as we plan. I mean, come on, who would've thought their life would turn out the way it has? Are you telling me it has all been perfect, or exactly as you wanted?
