Here are my specs:
Pentium D 930 3.0gHz
2gb Corsair DDR2 667 ram
SAPPIRE Radeon 4830 512 GDDR3
GIGABYTE GA-8I945P-G 945P 775 socket
Windows Media Center Edition

VIRTUAL RAM SIZE
Initial 2046
Max 4092

I have just turned off all addons, and set default settings. I get no more than 20 fps for some reason.

I've ran malware scans with Spyware Search & Destroy, Virus scans with McAfee Corporate Edition (through my school). I've also defragged my computer and ran CCleaner and cleaned the registry.

I used to play this game 2 years ago when I had a 7600gt in the rig. I remember getting 45~ fps easily with it too. I don't know why the sudden drop in fps since I've restarted. I have all current drivers, I believe, and haven't over/underclocked.

Is it a processing problem? But why would my FPS drop. I get 6-10 fps in Dalaran, 5 fps in 25 man fights, and once I start moving/flying it's about 12-14. I should be getting atleast 30. Is there anything else I can do to help my performance? Would reinstalling the game help any?

I can run other games. I've played Fallout 3 on high without much slowdown/issues.

you could try and make sure you are running the latest drivers for your gfx card also check to see if your card is supported by wow.

There are lots of things to tweak in the video settings. Try lowering them.
WOTLK is much more resource hungry, and your machine is rather low end for current standars. You can try going to some old world area - you will most likely see that your FPS is much higher.

I too have 15 fps in dalaran, and 40+ in IF.

I have noticed a marked reduction if FPS since release of the Lich King. 5 FPS in Dalaran, is the norm. I run a dual core laptop, so processing speed is not the issue, I'm suspecting it's my garbage video card. Temped to try out my old P4 that has a decent graphic card to see what will happen.

Personally I think it stinks!
