So, I know the realms are down, but our accounts need paying by tomorrow, so I tried to log into the website to pay before they expire tomorrow. It won't let me log into my account or my fiance's and it's the same on his computer over at his place. I tried making a trial account to see if I could get into the website or if it was just our accounts, and it won't let me do that. It just says "An error has occurred."

Is it because the realms are down or is the website acting up or is it just our accounts? I've never had this problem before, but then again, I've never tried logging in while the realms are down.

I tried both account on both computer and tried logging in via the main page, forum, and armory.

To keep it brief. IIRC, WoW utilizes world and instance servers on the one hand and log-in servers on the other. The log in servers are what allows you to log into your account and subsequently pick a realm (world) server.

When maintenance takes place all the servers are taken down, including the log-in ones. It's bit difficult to work on them, when folks log in and try to pick a realm.

Anyway, said log in servers also function as the gateway to one's account screen. Meaning that one maintenance day, you can't access your account screen until after maintenance is done.

By that same token, the official forums often also experience problems during this timeframe.

Anyway, you'll be able to access your account later today, after maintenance is done.

I wonder how long that post would've been if you hadn't kept it brief...

Some things are best left unknown, lest they rouse the ones sleeping in the stone houses in their great city of R'lyeh. :afro:
