I'm not exactly new but I'm having a little trouble herer anyway. I'm a level 25 human paladin trying to get from Lakeshire to southshore. I have no idea how to get there. Any help would be appreciated.

fly to ironforge (or if you don't have the flight path, fly to SW and take the tram)
run through Dun morogh to Loch Modan
take the road north from algaz station through the north gate pass to the wetlands
follow the road to the north of wetlands and go into arathi highlands (be careful, this is now level 30-40 area)
run north till you get to a junction (just south of refuge point) then head west through arathi to get to hillsbrad
southshore is in the middle of the zone by the coast (coodinates 50, 56)

Thanks alot that helps alot. I've been trying to get there going through the burning steppes haha. That should probably be alot easier.

you may as well wait till 30 and get a mount so it will be a lot faster to get there.
I know there's a quest that sends you there to talk to some guy about some books. But then he will ask you to go up into alterac which will get you killed at 25. Other quest are available but are also around lvl 30 and a good number of them send you up into Alterac.
The other main purpose of southshore is jumping off point for Aliance heading to SM, again you want to be 30.
It's cool to explore and its your choice, i am just letting you know it won't do much for you yet and will take a lot of your time.

I never really understood the point of putting Southshore behind Arathi Highlands, from an Alliance PoV. For Horde it makes sense, and the level range scales nicely from SPF-HB/AM-AH, but for Alliance it seems like Southshore got stuck on the wrong side of the treshold.

You can always get someone to summon you at the Shadowfang keep stone if you still can to make it quicker.
