Ok I thought this was good. I sometimes like to change what's on my ordered food, sometimes adding things sometimes removing them. While I'm often charged more for extras, I've never been charged less for taking things off.
How many ingredients can you remove from your hamburger and still be charged full price?

I know ordering a plain cheeseburger will often get you vacant stares as the high schoolers try to deal with that awesome order. I've had to explain that order no less than 15 times.

I rarely go into Maccie D's or BK, probably once a year if that. One I remember from my last visit is ordering a Burger and Fries and the girl says its cheaper to get the meal deal and have a drink included. I don't want the drink as i'm off to the pub I say. But its cheaper she says again. Ok I will have the meal deal with a drink but can you just throw it away as I don't want it I say again. *girl looks at me dumbfounded* Ok that will be £3.49 sir.....and pours the drink down the sink. Weird.

That's when you turn to the girl behind you in line and say, "Beg your pardon, I have a drink being forced on me, would you like it?"

That reminds me of when I was newly arrived in Britain. I went into McDonalds, asking: “May I have a chicken burger please?”
“Whah?” The lady at the till asked me. Luckily by this time I’d begun to realise that “Whah?” is another way of asking “Excuse me?” – or “what?” for those who are less polite.
“A chicken burger.” I replied, pointing at the picture of the chicken burger behind her.
“Sorry, we don’t have that.”
“Oh, ok.” I replied, slightly shocked. “Do you have anything without red meat?”
“Sure, We ha’ the veggy sandwich, o’ the chicken sandwich.”
Yep… they call the burgers “sandwiches” in England for some reason. Is that to make it sound healthier? :ponder:

The Phrase "Chicken Burger" doesn't make any sense.
I mean, when you ask for a Hamburger, you get Beef, not ham.
So, you're the crazy one.

If only it were that simple Surodat. Spontaneous social interaction can lead to more annoyance than intended. I've been in many a shop before and because I have more items than a person behind me I will wave them through or ask them if they would like to go before me, only to be met with suspicion or a curt "no thanks". Nowt stranger than folk as they say.
But I understand the sentiment :)

I had a full cart one day at Wal-Mart. Let a guy behind me with 2 things go ahead of me. He does, then turns around and tell me that "You know you will never get ahead doing stuff like that."
Gotta love how people respond to kindness.

My reply to her would have been..."You don't have that thing in the picture, that you are advertising?"

That's when you need a good comeback like:
"Yes, but it will help me sleep better at night." :cloud9:
or
"Maybe not here, but it will get me through the line at the Pearly Gates quicker."
or
"I didn't let you go ahead of me because of who you are. I did it because of who I am." :wink3:
or, if you want to go for the insult...
"That's ok. I really don't trust you behind me."

I bought a cheese burger from Macca's once. Bloody thing had meat in it!

But what about the guy between me and the girl? Shouldn't I ask him first?

What's the difference between a Hamburger and a burger?
Also, some Hamburger's you get bacon (which is from the same animal as ham). I don't know what that has to do with anything but whatev's

It's called the 'ol USA, where rudeness, hypocracy, kindness, valor, hate, love, selfishness, and altruism can all be easily found in about a 10 mile area. I've met people who would let me move in their house in a second if something happened to mine, while at the same time, would drive by a black woman and child on the interstate and take time to roll down the window and call them the n word.
We are sometimes a bit overly complicated here in the states.

A chubby guy in a red velvet suit and a Sara Pailin impersonator.
And arguing that a hamburger should have pork in it because of the name is a bit odd. It's named after the place IIRC. So a hamburger sandwich should have one or more of the following: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:People_from_Hamburg
