i've started seeing these more and more. how long has this company been around? have people tried their product? can someone direct me to reviews, etc on their graphics cards and how their company stacks up against the other regulars in the graphics market?

thanks!

I don't know, even the wiki page looks like it was setup by the company itself. Wierd.

After a little more searching, I think that this company appeared out of nowhere last year, and is trying to rewrite history to make it appear that they've been around for years.

edit: I can find nothing about them before 2001 and nothing about them in english before 2004.

All told, I can really find nothing about them. I think they've just recently opened themselves up to more Western Markets.

yea im reading customer reviews in newegg and on the internet. good reviews thus far.
seems like a taiwanese company trying to leave its mark in the US market.

I've known of Sparkle for years, they've been around at least since 2005 in my own memory of them operating. It is safe to say they are actually an old player. Supposidly they've been trying to overhaul themselves, and a good job too, as their reputation has been mud in the books of many technicians. An old thread from the middle of 2007 in which myself and Tunga spoke negatively of them: http://forums.worldofwar.net/showthread.php?t=401905

I would be careful purchasing from them, I've heard bad stories about their cards in the (distant) past, and I'm not sure if they have bucked up their ideas or are still at the bottom end of the market when it comes to reliability and quality. I don't trust them, but I'm willing to see that they may have changed, I'd just look carefully to make sure of where they now fall.

I saw my first Sparkle gfx card in 1998/99, I'm pretty sure they are cheap cards. If money is a concern then go for it but otherwise try and stick to a more well known brand.
