View Full Version : How do I spend my talent points during leveling?

I am leveling my Warrior - currently 32, and a Hunter. I have elected to respec Furry with the Warrior and BM with the Hunter. I have looked over many build examples and selected one for each. Most of the builds I have seen are for lvl 70+ and so I don't have enough points to completely fill out the builds. However, now I am wondering the best way to continue to level each. Do I concentrate on trying to get as far down as possible in each tree as quickly as possible and then add points to the individual talents later or should I max out points in each talent as I go?

each talent tree has a special skill which usually comes at level 40 (e.g beastial wrath for a BM hunter), but for a fury warrior you want to get titan grip (end talent) as soon as possible. apart from that, fill in the talents that will help you level and try and get as many of the special skills from the tree as you can.

You should be Arms at 32 with a Warrior, getting your Whirlwind weapon. =P
Seriously, best times on my War was having that Whirlwind Axe at 31 (Beginning of 31, love that guild.) and destroying every mob utterly until about 48, then dropping a bit until 51, then going back up to kinda good with the Icebarbed Spear. =P

Good suggestions above but it's really up to you. Using the build you want to end up in, spend points in your builds (using one of the many online calculators) and find the best for lvl 32. Most builds make use of one tree a lot and another a little. Find the way the works best for you. But if you want an recommendation (and a take from what was said above), I'd say find a talent that you really like and are excited to get and shoot for that as quickly as you can. It can be an ability (Beastial Wrath), a buff (Spirit Bond), or whatever (Frenzy). For all of my charactors, I chose a build and picked which talent I would be taking at each level to maximize the game play and the charactor's abilities and combat skills. (Might seem a little geeky but thats part of the WoW game I like to play. What can I say, I like to plan things!)
Hope this helped.

As a warrior I played Arms til 60 - then went Fury for Titan's Grip. From there on it's just plain easy mode.
As hunter I started out as BM and never left that path.
At least as someone said - try to get the level 50 skill when you reach 50 (the one requiring 40 talent points - like Mortal Strike).

A Furry warrior??
Isn't that a druid in Bear Form?
Also: the talent trees are meant to make you choose. The most obvious choice is "which tree(s)". But even inside a tree you need to pick a line from the top to the bottom. You'll have to skip certain talents you like to get to the ones you like better. This is what creates diversity among same-levelled players. Before talent trees every L30 Warrior was nearly identical (apart from gear) to every other L30 Warrior and players didn't feel like they had a sense of identity (I'm talking beta wow here, way back).

I doubt that will stay the same for long (especially if they do bring the TG nurf to the live realms)

I know mate - but I will get to 80 at least - and then I can choose again when 3.1 comes live.
