Hey everyone, had a look for this problem but couldn't find it so sorry if it's a repost.
After a 2 year break from WoW I got round to downloading the streaming trial client with the 10 day free trial. Accidentally got the US one (want the EU one - live in UK!) and it installed fine, ran fine etc etc. Then I realised i'd gotten the wrong one when I realised my realm list was different to my friends who are all on the EU servers. So I uninstalled the US client, and downloaded the EU one.
Now my problem is that when I load up the EU client it hangs on "Testing Internet Speed..." (which is the phase right before it asks you where you want the files to be saved etc.), then after a 1-2 minute wait it gives me an error saying it could not connect to the internet to start downloading files. As far as i'm aware the US and EU clients both use the same port numbers and network settings so i'm fairly sure it isn't an ISP/Firewall/Network configuration problem. I've tried purging my hard drive of any WoW related references incase installing the US one beforehand caused this but this has still done nothing.
I would try to just change the realmlist text file addresses but as it's the streaming client there isn't a realmlist file, and I can't download the full version of the client either as it's the exact same problem...
I do live on a university campus, but if the US version is downloading/running/connecting to realms fine then I see no reason for the EU one not to?
Anyone have any ideas what could possibly be making this happen?
