Calm down. Its only first part of the patch. If you download it now, you will have to wait for another patch on patch day. Advantage is you will be downloading smaller package then and be able to jump into the game faster, while others will have to download one big patch.

It's not going to be next week (there's still Ulduar testing happening on the PTR).

Anyone remember the 2.4 patch? It started downloading 3 weeks before it went live. Blizzard are probably just putting this half gig of data out to take the strain of the patch servers when it finally goes live.
