Hi there,
I'm having massive issues with WoW at the moment. I was in Naxx, everything going just fine until my party managed to get Heigan down to 500hp (the rest of the group managed to get him down woot!) and suddenly, the computer froze and the only way to unfreeze it was to switch the computer off and restart.
The restart went smoothly, no issues but 5 mins later, it froze again for about 3 mins before producing the following error message...
This application has encountered a critical error:
ERROR #134 (0x85100086) Fatal Condition
Program: C:\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe
Failed to read file Item\ObjectComponents\Weapon\Mace_1H_DrakTharon_D_01.blp.
Debug Details:
[2] err=0 text=SFileReadFile - Item\ObjectComponents\Weapon\Mace_1H_DrakTharon_D_01.blp - Data\common.MPQ
[1] err=0 text=ReadSectors/DecompressData failed
[0] err=0 text=ReadSectors/DecompressData failed
I am not sure what it is doing it for but its the same message that comes up each time I restart the game, otherwise, the computer is fine. I have run the Blizz repair program but all it has done is make the issue worse as I couldn't get past the log in screen before the whole game freezes and I was forced to restart the computer.
I have done a complete re-install of the game and patches, except for any adds I had previously and have updated all my drivers. However, while I can now get into a character, I can only play for about 5 mins before everything becomes pixilated and freezes.. then, my only option is to restart the computer.
Before today, I have never had a problem with playing WoW on this computer even in very heavily populated cities and 25 man raids so its very frustrating at the moment. I did post on the official Forum but got zero help and have logged the issue with WoW Tech Support but also expect zero help from them, going by others comments.
Is the easiest thing to do is just get more advanced video card and some new ram? I have a Nvidea GeForce 8400GS and 2 x Amd Athalon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ and 2 gig of Ram (ddr?.. can't figure out how to look it up on the system?)
Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you :)
