Okay so the patch info says that the race restriction on mounts has been lifted, but I just tried to buy a saber mount in Darnassus and it still said that I needed to be exalted in Darnassus before I could get one. Anyone have any idea what's wrong?

Nothings wrong. You still need to be exalted, but now you can use them, as before you couldn't.

It's always been an "Exalted ONLY" thing... Just now Tauren can ride Hawkstriders (Or whatever it was.)

Night elfs and humans can ride mechanostriders and tauren can ride the chickens.

Working as intended. The racial restrictions were lifted, not the reputation restrictions. This was never meant to read that any race could buy any factional mount regardless of reputation.

Here is what this fixes:

Tauren, pre patch, were restricted to the following mounts, no matter who they were exalted with: Kodo. Wolves. Pvp mounts. Special drop mounts. So a tauren, exalted with Silvermoon, could NEVER buy the hawkstrider mount because, to quote the vendor "Your great mass would surely crush such a majestic creature." In other words: "No, fat cow, go away." They also could not purchase raptors for the same reason. This meant that a tauren found it impossible to gain the mount acheivement. (My guild was running AQ 40 mount runs to try and get our tauren enough mounts for this!)

The Gnomish mechanostriders were also restricted to gnomes and dwarves.
