I wish they made it easier to blacklist sites or entire domains but I don't there there is a built in method. If you have a few just update your HOSTS file to block those sites. If you want an addon, try Foxfilter.

Just in case the hosts file is unknown to anyone, it maps domain names to ip addresses and it is the place where your browser looks first. It a name can't be resolved there, it looks to the provider.

If you want to add, for example, stupidsite.com to be blocked, map it to 127.0.0.1 - this is localhost and is the pc you're on. Also works fine for known 'bad' sites with keyloggers, trojans etc. as well as keeping the kiddies away from known porn sites.

All in all, a very useful file. Need to reboot windoze to use changes.

But that is all they want to see on the net ^^ You spoil all the fun :P

I'd just like to add, from a purely philosophical point of view, that if you click on the link, you have for all intensive purposes, been rick rolled regardless of whether or not you actually see the pic/vid.

You are in a dreamworld if you think that someone is going to map ALL pron sites by name to 127.0.0.1

There are hundreds of thousands such sites, and you'd never block even a fraction of them....

and new ones pop up all the time. Still, someone could go to the trouble of blocking a LOT of them, just like the list floating around that blocks most of the trouble sites (ads, known virus sites etc).

You leave my dreamworld alone !! :-)

Just a quick fyi ...
There are people who actively maintain a hosts file for public consumption. The collected efforts of these fine people manage to block a large percentage of crappy sites.

Just to play devil's advocate as well. Do you have a virus scanner? Why? There are so many viruses out there and more getting added, you can't possibly hope to keep up with all that?

Actually, if you google the word porn you'll get approx 240,000,000 hits :)
