is WoW cd really an audio cd!?!?!

ok here is the thing

this is what happened:

so, i was installing WoW today, no erors on installation,ok i run launcher and it cant connect to news server and i dont see anything downloading (patches and updates and stuff...) so i click play anyway hoping it wont affect it, hoping i could still logon and play, next i go and logon but when its loading, on the "handshaking" part it just stays there for ever and doesnt load up not even to show me the realms, next i get really mad (lol) and go look for a sollution, i find one! woohoo! bt it doesnt work (>:() so i guess i ran out of options cuz noone else had anyother fix so i unisntall WoW, get my cds, and install, next i put cd 1 in, bt no instalation thing comes up, a window pops up saying how do i want to open it, AND IT ONLY RECODNIGZES IT AS AN AUDIO CD WITH ! TRACK IN IT AND NO .EXE FILE< WTF IS THAT>




hope im not alone, HELP ME PLEASE, and i know now there is a downloader to download it in Worldofwarcraft.com BUT I BOUGHT THE DAMN CD AND ITS AN AUDIIO CD? CANT BE CUZ IT WORKED LAST TIME BT WTF HAPPENED FOR IT TO TURN INTO ONE???????

Take the following steps:
- Go to www.worldofwarcraft.com (US) or www.wow-europe.com (EU)
- Go to your Account Management
- When your logged in scroll down until you see "Clients Download"
- Click "Access this service" next to it
- Click the PC-icon next to "English" (if you're not a mac-user, or using another localisation)
- This will download an installer that will download and install the whole game for you. Just let it run overnight and hope it's done by the next day :smiley:.
- You may also need to let it patch up afterwards.

Not the fastest way, but certainly quite easy.

As for your CD (probably a DVD actually): If you can somehow (using another PC ?) copy all the files to your harddrive you don't need the dvd anymore. You can just install from there.

thx yeah im downloading it now,(even though its at 57% at 31kb/s, yeah i know, if you know how to speed it up tell me please!) the thing thats making me enraged is that i payed for the thing and its not working well.

How about you stop trusting windows automagic, and just explore the DVD. I bet those files will be there :)

Could I ask that you keep the swearing and AOL Speak to a lesser degree, it is frustrating to read your posts. I've taken care of that post you wanted deleting however, users cannot delete their own posts.

The beauty of it is that you actually paid for your account, rather than a copy of the game itself, As Wintrow said, you don't need the cd/dvd to play, you can only use it for installing WoW on another computer or helping someone out with a 10-day trial. But in fact you don't even need them for that anymore, since you can always download the client. Hefty download, but if your cd doesn't work anymore it's more than worth it.

I'd take a closer look at what triplex says, though, just explore the cd yourself. It's not because your auto-run botched up that your cd is broken.

America Online, the crappiest internet browser on Earth. Used to be a service provider as well.

I hope you have enough space on your computer to download and install at the same time. I didn't at the time (bad computer) and it made me restart the install (not the download, but it was still annoying at 98%).
