I have hughes net and i know that the latenct is usually 1000-1500 which i can deal with no biggy it doesnt bother me.

But the last few weeks my lat has been 3k+ almost constantly... and i dunno whats going wrong. Ive called hughes net and they said they can do anything about it which i think is bs. But there is nothing i can do to make them do anything.

I have my regular hughes net router and a wireless router for the other compuer. Even if no one is on the other computer my lat is 3k+, and ive tried taking the wireless router off to see if it would help and my lat is STILL 3k+..

if there is anything anyone knows that can help at all let me know.

The joys of satellite internet connections.

You could ask about going onto old fashioned dial-up for WoW (if you can). I know it sounds crazy, but WoW has a tiny upload/download (while actually playing) and the latency will be better than 3k.

Other than that.... keep pestering Hughes net.

With satillite internet they're probably not lieing. When I worked for a firm managing a satillite for telephone live relaying, bad cloud cover could blot the signal out completely. It could be anything from a busy server to a season of weather to a poorly placed branch of a tree. So many factors, and many of them the company can't even pinpoint, let alone solve. Such is the nature of sat internet.

It finally resolved itself last night back to 1200 which is normal. Just hope it lasts

when that happens, you can try these recommendations (http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=2405449520&sid=1#1) from the official team.

i have the occasional 1500+ ms spikes also. usually updating the dns table helps a lot.
