Like I stopped playing WoW months ago because I got sort of busy, now im thinking of starting back on my account and playing WoW once more. Im out of school(high school) and I got about 4 months before I start college and such. Im wondering on what class to play. I got a Rogue to 70 on silvermoon, but I don't think I like alliance anymore, i want to play horde. I only leveled a rogue, and i sort of hated leveling one. Because it was hard due to the fact that anythin can 2 hit me. But I did love the damage I was dishing out, i was always #1 or #2 on DPS charts. But im looking to try out a new class and different play style then a rogue. Anyone got any experience with a class they loved playing and that they enjoyed the most while leveling they can enlighten me with and give me some ideas on what my next class should be?:afro:

Since you have a level 70, I would suggest trying a death knight (assuming you get Wrath) since you can start at level 55. Other options are Paladin (tank, heals or dps) or Druid (tank, heals or dps).

I played a DK to 72 and I deleted him, he got like real boring to me, but everyone loves them.

I just get why people delete characters at that high of a level... Not like it's in the way. Unless the 10 chars per server-limit is cramping you. But even then I'd still rather have it transferred to another server than delete him.
Nevertheless, it's your account, your choice .

And besides, the less of these pests remain, the better. My paladin is currently leveling through Outland and would kill someone just to get in a party without a DK that spams the damage meter every 10 seconds.

Out of curiousity, what is so bad about someone who can do great damage?
DK's can crush mobs quite fast, and often put other dps to shame.
Unfortunately, it is often the case that it is difficult to find geared ranged dps.

Nothing. But the idiots don't need to spam the meters like a hot news flash.

Ahhhh....I may have missed it earlier when you said it....It is the people who are top on the list and are showing off by spamming the meter that you don't appreciate?
I agree....
But, that is certainly not a DK-specific character flaw....
enjoy!

Snow was the one who originally complained. I refined the complaint. But yes, I don't need to see the #$%$#%#$ dps meters every second. I don't really care who's at the top, are we killing things? You don't see ME linking the healing meters every room. The jet jock look at my epeen attitude that a great many (yes, not only dks) dps seem to have is truly, mindnumbingly sad.

Semiiramiis is right, that's what I was complaining about, not their DPS of course. The tank and the healer both appreciate mobs being taken down quickly, don't worry.
My comment was of course more tongue-in-cheek than anything else. Mages and rogues suffer of this disease as well, other DPS classes/specs to a lesser extent in my experience. But Death Knights really top the charts for me at the moment. It's just that every group for an Outland instance I have been with lately had more than one DK in them, and then the chance for getting one with an oversized e-peen is of course rather big.
Last one really ticked me off, we were trying to down the Broken Hunter in Underbog, can't really be arsed to look up his name right now - one of the DK's in the group was one-shotted by his Aimed Shot and while he was dead and bored he didn't know any better than to spam that meter three or four times in a minute, while we were trying to stay alive. Needless to say maybe, that was about 10-15 minutes prior to making my post, those 10 seconds I mentioned where actually literally 10 seconds - well, maybe 15.

I agree with you, i only played a paladin to 62 and i hated it.
And paladin's can rape Dk's in dps i dun care what you say lol..
I would try playing a paladin if i where you. There slow at first but once you get to like 30 its starts getting more fun.
You could also try playing a hunter. Im currently working on one atm there pretty fun.

I leveled my priest as a healer, and I got in the habit of linking the damage taken chart when someone spammed the dps meter. Funny thing that the same people seemed to be on the top of both.
I suppose that works less now that tank threat is a lot more foolproof and there is a lot more unavoidable group damage.
That having been said, I adore my DK and it is fun being high on dps. (Its also nice not being super squishy.) I have for the most part managed to contain myself and generally only post meters when someone actually requests it. I do think that every DK should play a healer for a bit though. It does give you a bit more perspective. (Although I actually look at healing a bit differently now too. I tend to be a lot more likely to heal pets these days...)
As to the OP, do you have some idea of what type of dps you would like to do? Did you want to stick to melee? A hunter might be something to try, although I'll be honest, at least as beast master, I didn't find it the most exciting class to play. However, you do get good dps and good survivability.
You could always go with a hybrid class to give you more options. Shamans and druids will give you both melee and caster options for dps, and some other role options if you decide you get tired of pew-pewing.
Survivability is a weird thing to measure, since it comes down a lot to playstyle and what you are used to. My holy priest still has better survivability than my DK, but that has more to do with the significant experience that I have on my priest in learning how to handle different situations. (And it's not that I play more carelessly with the DK, I'm equally suicidal on my priest. )

Heheh, getting suicidal is a definate marker for "becoming comfortable with a class". It's in those cutting edge situations where you find out what the class is REALLY capable of.
