View Full Version : A specific bug issue, need help if anyone had problems like this before.

Well I spent 2 weeks trying to figure it out with one of the gms in Tichondrius server. It is still pending but would like any input into this matter. As of right now I get disconnected everytime I step into two locations of the map, Orgrimmar and Deeptram in IronForge. I have never passed most of the time at level 14, although I did level one character to 19 but I never ventured into those 2 locations, but the moment I did, I get disconnected and am unable to relog into my character. Sometimes gm's would move me around but that character would stop working, like if going into one of those locations bugged the character. There was one instance that the character did work fine for a day till I relogged back into him the next day and same issue happens, I can login into the server fine, but then 10-15 secs. into it, I get disc. And I tried multiple servers to see if it was server issue but same thing happens on other servers too. I can play fine for hours but when I hit those 2 locations it gives me bugs, and I'm afraid as I venture further in other locations I might find more bugs. does anyone have similar issues? was it ever resolved? should I just cancel my subscription? One more thing I only brought the original WOW game, no expansions as of yet, I used a trial version first then deleted the trial version out and clean installed the game. I use no addons whatsover.

My first guess would be something got corrupted in the game files. To exclude ANY role your own pc might or might not have in this ordeal I suggest installing the game on another pc. Also, don't use your own CDs, download the trial client again, burn that to a dvd and install from there. The trial client is actually the real client. Only your ACCOUNT was trial.

If you are automagically able to log in to your characters on that pc you at least got a clue.

IF that's the case you can try:
- uninstall wow and reinstall using the trial installer
- reinstall your windows (last resort!)

It would help to know what the GM's have told you to do to resolve the problem - and also it would help to know if you've actually done.

I would try a full clean install of WoW first.

Things I've tried...
Although I have no addons gm suggested deleting WTF, CACHE, INTERFACE folders,
unchecking the automatic downloader,
check reduce input lag. Thats all I've done for now.
The gms have been very nice but there backed up a bit, was hoping someone here see's the problem beforehand and resolves it. If gms cant find a solution, and no one here can't figure out the problem I will reinstall wow and see if that works.

Find a friend that will allow you to copy his entire warcraft folder.

Copy his entire warcraft folder to a USB device, such as a thumbdrive or external drive.

Delete the entire wow directory from your machine.

Copy the wow install from the USB device to your machine.

Run wow.

If wow crashes > You have a driver or hardware issues.

If wow runs > Level up you are way behind.

hi all to keep you up to date on my issue, gm gave me several things to do
I had to update my video, sound, and network card drivers which I did, then I had to download directx did a windows update which i did all of it and to my amazement, it worked...for a short while, now everytime I get stalled and disc. somewhere this time it's thunder bluff, I check the realm status and if its up and running I contact a gm through email and within few hours I'm back on, it has been doing same trend 3 times now. I wish they can pinpoint exactly the cause of this so I can fix it myself but at this point they just don't know. I'm going to press this on till I get this game to work, I don't mind the usual disconnects as long as I can relog within 30 mins or so and play again. But I can't and if there is a computer genius out there who can pinpoint exactly why this is happening, please share some knowledge. If I just can't play it because my labtop specs. is not up to par, I will cancel subscription immediatly, I just want a definite answer to my issue.

Get a decent graphics card as well instead of that integrated crap you have. Your problem seems to revolve around going into cities where there are lots of people and hence lots more for it to do. At the very least switch the screen resolution and detail settings to the minimum and see how you get on.

I used to get all kinds of problems - similar to the OP. I went out a spent a good buck on a brand new HP PC with all the trimmings. I don't get any issues, other than a random d/c with an error message to submit. I'm currently getting a GM to investigate, but seems to be a known issue with the pc and set up I have.

Any ways, GL with every and if you can afford it, a graphics card will do you best for now. :thumbsup:

The OP is playing on a low spec laptop, so upgrading his graphics is most likely not an option.

sorry I forgot to mention I did that too and I put my graphic down to the lowest possible setting, but i finally found out the cause from another forum, turns out my nvidia driver had the wrong settings for my 3-d application. I had to check vertical sync to force on and also checked triple buffering for wow to work on my labtop. The moment I did that the game worked fine when I relogged in again, didn't need a gm's help I'm so relieved!!! :sunny: Cased closed everyone, thanks, I can play WOW now! :cloud9::cloud9:
