Firstly, Total n00b, new to the site but also new to the game joining on Sunday.
At the moment, i am Level 21 Human mage on Azjol and slowly been making my way through quests but someone has advised me to try and find people at the same level as me to help level up and hopefully complete quests a bit quicker than running around like a headless chicken.
I have quest helper installed (as i said, total n00b, b/f thought it would help me) but wondering where the best place to find people who fancy a beginner to join their groups to go do quests.
Im part of a guild but everyone is in their 70-80's that they do all the killing and i'm left to pick up the loot, helps to level but want to try it myself.
Any good places?

Ask in the general channel for the area you are in. Something like: /2 anyone on *quest name*?

Thanks - will try that.
Unsure if there was a place you could ask people if they fancied doing any quests or if i could join or if you had to be in a guild/group.
....one day i will get the hang of this game (lol)

I think under the Looking for More window (the I button on the keyboard) there's the option to look for groups for specific group quests as well as instances. Though I'm not sure how popular that is. :)

Wherever you are questing, just type /1 "LVL 21 mage looking for quest partner"...
/2 is trade chat

Wherever you are questing, just type /1 "LVL 21 mage looking for quest partner"...Don't be surprised if no one answers you as most people prefer to quest alone...You are also at the level to start doing low level instances such as BlackFathom Deeps, Deadmines and Stockades...Go into LFG menu on your toolbar (green circle) and get in the LFG channels...You can't choose instances you aren't ready for...Make sure you ask your group for shareable quests since the instance quests generally give 2x the experience of the other zone quests.

Perfect :D going to try that tonight. the button on the powerbar bottom doesnt really have much :(
Keep forgetting not everyone is in a guild and might want a partner :)

Best leveling for me has been when I arrived at wherever something needed killing/gathering/driving and I met someone who was doing the same thing. I ask if they wanna group up and we end up duo-ing the whole night.
Usually quests race by end I end up with a nice bit of change/gear/xp. I add them to my friends list, but typically next time I see them online they're 3 to 4 levels ahead of me.
Impromptu grouping FTW!

If you are talking about the green button then yes, you will only have a couple of choices, more as you level. As you level, the easy ones will disappear and more will take their place. Just hop in the LFG and wait for a whisper to see if you are interested. Good Luck.
One more note. When you gain a level, which you probably do pretty often at level 20s, you will drop out of your LFG entrances. You will have to go back in and join again if you gain a level.

The problem i am having is i am advertising on the channel for anyone wanting to do quests - usually i say which ones, i get invited to a group and often it is not ready - lacking tanks, healers etc or they are doing something totally different than what im trying to do
However, found just roaming the lands i often stumble upon groups about my level (now lvl 28 - whoo) and when im fighting animals - they often chip in and help me and vice versa, i know its sharing exp but at least its getting the quests done a bit quicker.
guess its just roaming for now until i can finally get to a respectable level to do proper quests with my guilds

A big pet peeve of mine. It will happen to the end of days. Best of Luck

First, you always want to have quest helper running. It's very easy to use, and you can level fast since you know where everything is. Don't even bother reading the quest descriptions because they are kind of pointless and don't really have a real story to them unless it's a long quest.
Second, don't group with people. The only time you should group with people is when it's a group quests. It will say (GROUP) next to the quest name if a group is recommended for that quest. Depending on your class, you can solo most of these quests until you reach level 60. If you group with people for each quest you will find a lot of downtime/people going afk/shared xp etc.
I usually like to quest at a fast pace.

I found when sharing quests that my XP and coins are being shared (boo) but i have seen the downtime/AFK when i was being invited to groups so given up with it.
Got at least 6 group quests and a couple of dungeons which i will soon be looking for groups. ATM because my fiance is helping me discover some new locations i am in a totally new location battling agetators but should be coming back to do these.
So far so good though - now lvl 32 :D im slowly getting there. now to start thinking about buying Crusades and Lich King
