I recently learned this enchanting profession............sounded kinda cool.
When I hover my mouse over the icon it says something about enchanting stuff using powder or something I get from disenchanting other magical items.
I cant seem to figure out how to disenchant any item.
BTW in my spellbook, only an enchanting icon has been added............no mention about disenchanting or something.

There is a disenchanting icon as well, it should be purple and be very close to your enchanting icon in your main spell book

How come I don't see any such iconYou're not looking hard enough? There is absolutely no way you have enchanting and don't have the disenchanting icon in your spell book. No way whatsoever, it's an integral part of the profession. So just look again.

And on a side note, please keep us updated. You seem to have all sorts of weird problems but never get back to us if we try to help you with one.

Although on my low level enchanter, this shows up on the first page of my general spellbook, you need to realize that characters' spellbooks have multiple pages. A level 80 can have 3-4 pages on each of the following:

General spells (Where your enchanting is)
Spec book #1
Spec book #2
Spec book #3

Confusing? Let me use my main as an example:

General spells- professions, secondary professions, racials and riding.
Spec book #1- all of her elemental based spells are found here.
Spec book #2 - all of her enhancement based spells are here.
Spec book #3 - all of her restoration based spells are here.

Total spell book pages... probably around 12.

Long story short: The icon is there. You just haven't found it yet.

It's in your spellbook, under the general tab.

I would guess that although he's heard about enchanting, he hasn't actually picked up the profession.

When you learn enchanting from an enchanting trainer, you'll get two abilities: Enchant and Disenchant. Until then you don't have the Disenchant ability.

Enchanting sounds cool, but in reality it's a money sink. I wouldn't bother with it until you're much higher level, if at all. Believe me, I have an enchanter character and it's very expensive to level up.

It's only expensive at the higher levels. At the low levels, it's a great way to dispose of all those green drops that don't sell on the AH anymore. You can "dust" them and use the dust to skill up.

Or better yet, sell the dust on the AH (encahnting mats don't cost anything to put on the AH btw) for those level 80's who took Renata's advice  and waited, because they'll pay ridiculous amounts of gold for low level dust and shards.:laughing:
