Hey, I need something to do in downtime when I'm not raiding and I would like to farm money to be able to get the motorcycle mount. Sucks it's over 15k gold =(
Anyway, I do my dailies everyday but I would like to farm for money somehow.
I have mining and JCing so I could farm lodes.. but what would I do with all the green gems? They would keep piling up and all I use them for is the JCing daily.
I sometimes farm the Relics of Ulduar for Sons of hodir rep... but I don't know how much money that would bring in if I just farmed the relics to sell em.
So what are your suggestions? What's worth farming for money?

If your mining is high, look at mining and selling the ore or get it high enough that you mostly get blue gems prospecting.
There's no real shortcut - you're going to sell stuff you gather vs buying gear or skilling JC etc. IF you're after gold, everything that reduces income or increases expenses needs to go. JC not at max? Stop skilling it unless doing so makes you more money than the mats used to skill. JC at max? Figure out whether you can prospect the ore for more money (on average) that selling the ore. Do you have any valuable JC cuts? Buy uncut gems (off the AH or with Emblems), cut and sell.

My JCing is at around 427.. when I do farm ore and prospect it, I do circuits in Icecrown. I can make a decent amount of Blue gems but the thing is, I get loads of green gems with it all that they all just stockpile in my bags and I don't know what to do with em besides use em for my JC daily. I don't really want to spend all my money on JCing recipes unless I need the gem for myself. That's why I'm looking for alternative methods as well, such as farming an instance or mobs for certain items to sell.

Nothing that sells for significant gold is easily farmable (if it was, everyone would farm it and the price would drop). If you're looking for something to bring in thousands or hundreds of gold in one swoop, there's nothing that will do that aside from the BoE epics that are sheer luck.
The question is, are you making more by farming ore and prospecting it than you would by selling it as ore? If not, sell the ore. If you get blue gems that sell for more than a stack of ore, AH the blue gems and vendor or AH the greens. Use Auctioneer to get that information.

Alright, I can try that. Thanks. Just wish there was that something that sells for gold. It doesn't even have to be a lot of gold, but some gold income from farming it would be nice.

You can farm netherweave cloth in outlands (nagrand) runecloth, and a great way is to do the jousting dailys and buy the pets, they sell for several k each

Just spend your time farming ore.... you can make a fortune doing circuits of SBasin and just sell the ore in the AH. You'll get a few blue gems and plenty of green gems which you can also sell.
I farm with a film or podcast playing.... makes it easy and entertaining.

Mining is just like flying around picking up heaps of gold. It's so lucrative if you just spend a little time doing it. To maximise your income from mining try and get on really early or really late when there aren't many people about. Sholozar is a great zone for mining, plenty of nodes there. Icecrown isn't so good as I find everything too spread out. Also consider lower level mining as there tends to be less of it around so prices stay good. Fel Iron, Adamantite, Khorium, Cobalt Ore all still sell really well.
The JC only gem Dragon's Eye, still sells really well on my server you should check it out on yours. Also make sure you craft a Titansteel Bar on every cooldown and you can get a friendly Blacksmith craft 1 BOE epic per week which you can sell for around 1000g each.

What I usually do with my green gems is pick a cut that is more/rare expensive in the "blue" quality version. (On example would be the Inscribed gems. The Inscribed Monarch Topaz recipe is a BoE world so expensive to get, and the cut is relatively popular.)
Then, cut the "green" quality version of that gem. Vendor the normal ones, and auction the ones that proc perfect. The normal cut ones vendor for more than the raw gem, and people will often pick up the perfect gems when the rare version is scarce or very expensive.

I'd like to put a little spin on this.
Find out how much low level greens are going for on your server.
Like the level 5-9, 10-19, 20-29, greens/blues are going for. If they are going for a considerable amount you might try doing something like soloing the stockades or even DM or SM, or SFK for those drops.
Some of the 15-19 green armor drops go for 20-30g on my server.
Just an alternate thought there.

You can earn $300-400 gold easily per day by first completing all the Ice Crown Quests... then you've see a ton of daily quests pop up all over Ice Crown. Save up your rewards to buy the rare pets and sell the pets in the AH for like thousands of gold. Its crazy.
Flying around Ice Crown will find you a ton of mining viens :-)

Sucks it's over 15k gold =(A motorcycle shouldnt be that much gold assuming you provide an engineer with the titansteel bars (which you can farm and smelt if you have mining). Then my suggestion is giving him some cobalt ores which he can turn into cobalt bolts. Not counting the 2 artic furs, you then must give him 12.5k for the remaining mats.
In the unlikely case you play in spinebreaker US horde side please send me a whisper in here. And I'll make you a motorcycle if you provide me with the materials.

You are off to a good start. I have the same profs as you and do all my dailies a day then after i am done with that i feel a little lazy.
Not sure how much you are looking to make a day but I can make about 1k every 2 days myself.
First off I do 25 dalies. I stick to the ones that give around 13g each. 13 x 25 = 325
As you are doing these dalies most of them have you killing mobs so you loot them and get vendor junk. After i vendor everything i usually gain at least 25g. I sell any good items on the AH and have greens disenchanted but these are wildcards that i don't count on. Total so far should be near 350g.
After that I go mining. I will spend an hour mining everything I see. My server is overpopulated and it seems that everyone has mining but i still get a decent bit. I prospect the ore then i will cut some of the gems into ones that sell for a decent bit (has to sell for more than the raw gem or it's pointless and harder to sell)
Now for those green junk gems and eternals. Break your eternals down into crystalized form and make the level 70 greens that you can with them and have a JC dust them. On my server i can take a stack of eternals and either sell them for 100g or make them into greens with the junk gems and dust them. I end up with around 4 stacks of Infinite Dust and they sell for about 80 each so i can get about 320g for them (I usually throw a few stacks int he bank for the guild though.) If i get enough small dream shards i will combine every 3 into a regular one and sell them as well as any greater/lesser cosmic essences.
I usually hang on to the shadow and other eternals for emergency selling for when i haven't had time to actually dedicate to dailies or farming.
But yeah you should be able to easily make 500 at least a day plus more if you sell everything unlike myself.
EDIT: forgot to say the prices may vary depending on your server but it still should be rather easy.

Thank you very much for the replies, i will be trying out the mining / prospecting / D/E the necklaces. I just need to find out the skill to DE them and the name of the necklaces. I'm at 260 enchanting on my rogue and stuck because I need to find the formula for Greater Stam to Boots.

If you're lvling enchanting lootables suggests Enchant Bracer - Greater Stamina up to lvl 265. Followed by Enchant Shield - Greater Stamina to 285.

For the time being you can see if you have any guildies or friends that have enchanting and can help out with disenchanting the level 70 crafted jewelry.
As for that formula it's very rare and mostly found on the world dragon bosses. It can also drop off Ony, a mob in blackrock, and some rare elites. your best bet for farming it though would be the Thunderstomp Stegodons in Ungoro Crater. they have a .1% chance to drop off them so it might take a while.
The enchant zXz posted has the same drop rate and requires the same mats so you whatever one you chose would work though.

How do people have the time for 25 daily quests?
I guess the reason I don't is because I typically raid 25 man content 5 nights a week and do 10 man content the other two nights.

I usually am doing either 25, or 10 man raids or heroics 6 nights a week. What i do is i choose the easier one where you kill x amount of mobs or so on. Like the tournament dalies have one where you kill 10 scourge and one where you kill 15 so when you kill the first 10 you finish one then just need to kill 5 more and finish the second rather than having to kill 2 sets. And on my night off i get the wood chopping quest from the goblin there and farm up a week worth of wood before turning it in for the day (after you get the 12 planks you can keep harvesting the trees.) I do my cooking, Jc, and Fishing daily. those take no time at all. I will do the frenzyheart daily to catch the chickens. takes 2 mins tops.
Etc... there are so many that only take a few mins that i can do 25 in an hour if i go straight from one to another.

Once you learn the daily quests it takes me personally 2 hours give or take 10 minutes to complete 25 dailies. I'm a Sr.Officer in the guild and reply to a ton of stuff while I'm doing all that too. I do not run end game stuff though like you guys do. I'm focused on helping out the guild achieve 80 and get them up.
I've ran Naxx 10 man only twice.

I used to fly around sholazar basin to mine saronite ore. I used to just sell the ore and make a little bit of gold.
I leveled a DK and made him a BS and JC.
Now I rarely mine for ore and can make 1500 to 2000 gold a weekend if I want to. I'm currently sitting on 7k gold. I have 3 epic mounts and 3 level 80 toons.
Why don't I mine ore anymore?
Because time = money. Why waste time flying around for ore when you can buy it relatively cheap on the AH?
This is how I make gold when I feel like it:
1) Buy ore from the AH. I currently buy ore when it's 20 gold a stack. I usually around 10 stacks at a time sometimes more.
2) Prospect the ore. On my server red cut gems sell for around 80gs (bold, delicate, runed). The others: yellows, oranges, and even purple cut gems can go for 40ish gold. If you just get 3 or 4 red gems you've already made your money back and then some. Not to mention the other gems that I sell.
I can do all this for about 15 mins of my time.
Good luck!
