I quit playing WoW a little bit after BC came out but now i'm thinking about playing again. basically i'm wondering how the game is now and how it has changed since then.

Is it still a huge grind for gear?

Does PvP have good rewards?

Is the arena the only viable way to get gear from PvP?

Are the Dks hugely overpowered?

What are the biggest game-changers since pre-BC?

In your opinoin would you reccomend starting again?

The game has not changed at all in its focus of gear. There are few more options on how to get it, but if you found it a grind before, then I'm willing to guess you'll still find it so.

I guess.

There is still bg honor gear available, but arena gear is very nice

No. Dk's are very strong, but not "hugely overpowered"

The emphasis on flying mounts and the need to purchase them, especially at the epic flight cost, has, in my eyes, brought a larger focus on making money than I remember earlier. Also add in true vanity mounts such as the chopper or multi rider mammoth and yeah...ka ching.

Is it still a huge grind for gear? s

Was it ever? I never really noticed this, I got nice gear as I levelled and was rewarded with nice gear lateron by running (heroic) instances (which I didn't find boring at all).

Does PvP have good rewards?

Yep. Mostly for PvP, of course, but you can get nice gear from doing bg's or playing in rated arena's. I've never been much for PvP myself, but when I did PvP for some time, I got nice gear with - in my eyes - relative ease.

Is the arena the only viable way to get gear from PvP?

Of course not. WoW has been expanded with new bg's and they're a nice way to get good PvP gear too. But the arena gear tops that, I think (which isn't all that surprising).

Are the Dks hugely overpowered?

Not 'hugely', but I play one myself and I have to say they're still 'easier' to play than most other classes. Or maybe I just like my Blood DK and that's why I think it's easier. But it's not HUGELY OP.

What are the biggest game-changers since pre-BC?

DK's, more battlegrounds, nicer arena matches, two entirely new areas to explore (Outlands and Northrend), heroic instances (with better drops than normal ones), huge addition to the lore, Argent Tournament, non-instanced pvp-areas (large ones like Wintergrasp, small ones like in Icecrown), emblems that you can gather to buy improvements for your gear, more companion pets, more mounts, re-vamped talents, better balance between classes in PvE, and the list goes on.

In your opinoin would you reccomend starting again?

Yes. Just try it again and see if you like it.

1. Experience points flys now.
2. Rep seems a lot more faster to achieve once you hit North Rend. - great rewards from the factions as well.
3. The Daily quests will get you rich, fun IMO too.
4. Farming rates in general seem to be a lot quicker for the respawn of the veins, herbs etc...
5. AH is still over priced.
6. Once you 80 as a tanking class, expect to see 25K health lol
7. Cap ratings are very well known
8. Addons are better then ever.
9. Still too many of those gold spammers.
10. Still too much immature talk in global channels.
11. The game has some hic ups with certain systems (as it seems)
12. You need a pretty powerful machine to run the game to its full potential
13. Blizzard seems to be making the game very personalized. Which is the best thing they can do. I'm so sick of seeing the same gear, forms etc...
14. Once you hit 80 and get good gear... you can solo pretty much everything up to North Rend instance wise - even ten mans.
15. Gold income in general is much easier.
16. I don't pvp but I hear through the guild its a lot better and fun as hell!

I'll confirm the "better balance" thing.

Where before a druid was mocked for trying to raid as anything other than resto (even bear tanks were seen as sub-optimal) you now see them all in splendid variety.

Blizzards standpoint of "bring the player, not the class" has been the best move ever IMO.

I second that!
