Don't forget, we have all the latest WoW news on our front page (http://wow.incgamers.com/) so remember to check there often.

Just incase some of you missed this:

Bornakk announced on the official forums earlier that new heirloom items will become available in patch 3.2. The new gear will be for the chest slot and will reward another 10% XP bonus that stacks with the heirloom shoulder bonus.

One thing I can tell you is that chest piece heirlooms will be available in the next content patch. They will provide a 10% experience bonus that stacks with the shoulder bonus.

Later, EU community manager Wryxian commented on the currency that is required for these new items:

I'm not certain off hand, it could be an existing emblem or a new one.

EDIT: Looks like the new items will come from upcoming new Argent Crusade rewards (http://wow.incgamers.com/blog/comments/ptr-3.2-new-argent-tournament-updates/).

Bring on the QQ.

It's likely, but remember with heirloom items you have to work your behind off to get them. And I certainly don't envy anyone having to do the Crusader dailies over and over to get the chest.

I wonder if it will be from another random tier set or if it'll match the shoulders. We risk the 'clown' look if this and future heirloom items are going to be from different sets, though saying that, it's a small price to pay for the XP bonus.

I'm sure Blizzard doesn't want lots of alts running around in Tier 0.5 lookalike gear until and including level 80 either.

Well this might be true for the new chest, but anyone who does a fair amount of raiding/HCs will get all the heirlooms they need easily.

But anyway it seems that lately any change Blizzard makes to make leveling easier is frowned upon by people.

Yeah, that's a few good hours spent in heroics and raids for one item, seems pretty fair to me

As for people QQing about changes to leveling, it's mainly the changes for new players that seem to bring out the beast in people.

Does anyone think this new heirloom chest is a bad idea?

no, this is the one way to target players who've seen it before and would like to speed thru the early parts of the game. And, it's completely the individual's choice.

Yeah, it's a great idea. Gives veteran players who want high level alts but don't want to grind as much to get their as they've seen it before something to help alleviate said grind.

Unfortunately for me, I just re-rolled characters, switching servers and factions, so hooray for the grind!

Does that mean it stacks to 20%? Or is it 10% on top of 10% so... 11%, which would be useless, lol.

I'm gonna take a wild shot in the dark and assume that they mean it stacks to 20%. But I've been wrong about things before (a lot).

By the time 3.2 is out, I will have ten level 80 characters, anyway.

(Might prove useful for the next expansion, though...)

Nah it'll be 20%. With the RAF bonus (triple XP on everything, not just kills), players will probably complete their first quest at Northshire Abbey and ding level 5

Lol, I wouldn't be surprised to see them at level 5 either, they'll finish the starter quests and be at least level 10 I'd say, and by then, mobs won't really give exp =P.

I read somewhere you had to hold the crusader title with the argent tournament?

I went up to the tournament, did the first round of quests... jabbing some dummy with a stick.

After a few minutes, I abandoned all the quests and made a special trip bythe quest giver to give him a /rude.

I'm not sure why people enjoy that kind of thing.

I hated it as well... IMO, you should be able to have a repeatable NON-DAILY quest. "Kill 25 of these and come back." or something, and it gives you a little bit of rep with them (Or whatever.) Even make it take 30 minutes, as long as it's repeatable.

They don't. But it's the fastest gold/hour and it's not like doing, say, the Ebon Blade Dailies for the umpteenth time are overly exciting either. Dailies are a source of gold, not a source of entertainment. (Unfortunately, I might add.)

Argent tournament got nothing on sons of hodir if your talking borring!!!!!
I mean i grinded to get the epic spell-sword with Argent but thats still optional witch rep with sons of hodir aint cause you realy need a shoulder enchant.

I still have about 1/3 left on rev to get the best enchant and i can hardely summon the stregth to fly to that place and finish those 6 dailys.

You can do something else you enjoy and buy the relics.

I don't like the idea of doing the tournament to get the chest piece. Namely because I hate the tournament, but apparently i'm going to have to do it because I want the chest piece.

My alt is only lvl 27. I stopped leveling as soon as I heard this news. I want it to be as quick as possible without raf, so i guess i'm going to have to try the tournament again.

You realize that makes no sense, right rgirty? Why spend X hours doing something you hate to save the same X hours leveling? You're not saving any net playtime - you're just moving it to your main.

if nothing else you want to wait till you get the mounts earlier and cheaper

I thought of it that way originally until I examined the situation a little more.

With doing the tournament:

1. It is content I haven't seen before.
2. I will make gold.
3. My alt will accumulate rest xp.
4. The BoA chest does not require repair, and will scale. Removing the need for me to replace at least 1 slotted item from time to time.
5. The char the chest is being used on will be a farming char, the less hassle and expense the better.

While I don't like doing the tournament, I think in the end this might be the way to go...

Then again I might get up to the grounds again, hate it and abandon all the quests.... again.

I did. I loathe the Tournament from a play and a story point of view. I did it a bit, made some gold, but it felt frivolous and completely disconnected from everything else. Plus, since I play on a laptop without a mouse (trackpad), jousting is less than smooth. The 10% isn't enough to make me do the AT. I got the shoulders for my DK and my shammy - they're nice but the lack of repairs is meaningless (I have tons of gold and.. come on, it's not that much to repair one item) and the XP gain is nice, but I leveled quickly without them too.

Yeah, this is what i'm thinking...i really hate the tournament... despite the gains i'm not sure if i can make myself endure it.

It's been WAY more important to keep the DK rested. I actaully made the toon to farm (she's a miner) and once I hit 58 I went to Outland, did a few quests, then leveled her mining (I'd made sure to get her to 275 by time she hit 58). With rested XP I got to 63 just on killing mobs near nodes. I powered thru the next 5 levels, went to Northrend, leveled to 71, set her aside... had 2m rested XP... which basically means I'm rested until 80. I got that to 1.5m XP at once point, paused for a couple of days, she now has 2.4m rested XP and is 77. Mining is maxed, so in a bit I'll buy her an epic flier and mine. Goal is to be 80 at 3.2 so I can gear her in heroics if I want with the Emblems of Conquest.

I thought you could only have 1.5 levels of rest?

I have been thinking of doing much the same thing, using only rest xp to level and I think that is what i'll do.

How much rest can I save up?

I'm using a mage, as I've always liked the mage class and don't much care for melee.

Another reason i've shelved him for now is that he's level 27, for the moment he's mountless but with the patch I can get him a mount rather than waiting 3 levels.

You're right, it's 1.5 levels. But in Northrend, that's about 2-2.5m XP. You *could* out strip the rate at which rest XP accumulates, but I leveled from 71-75 and had 1.5m still left (I'd started with 2m) since I was careful to park him in an inn. At 75 I shelved him for a few days, got him to a bit more than 2m XP and leveled him to 77 for flight.

It takes a bit longer in calendar time since you pause to let rest XP come back, but if you start with 1.5 levels in the bank so to speak, you only have to pause a couple of days every few levels. 71 to 75 (and I was just into 71) took about a week to give you an idea. Most of that was questing, a few intances - maybe 3-4. Now, I did have the heirloom shoulders from 71 on and I haven't died in several levels (DKs are NOT OP we're just... oh nvm.)

To quantify this I've gone from 55 to 77 and spent considerable time leveling mining to 450 in a bit over 7 days /played. I could have cut that down a lot, but leveling mining until it matched my toon level sucked in some playtime as did the casual mining runs where I only gained XP incidentally by killing mobs near nodes.
