I found a release date at X shop / When is the release date?
Unless a release date has come from Blizzard, via a press release then it is supposition by whoever is reporting it. Those who take pre-orders for games {on and offline} all have release dates. This is standard practice and encourages pre-release orders. It's not illegal. The release dates are their own guess work, no matter what the sales assistant/website has told you.
The game, according to Blizzard, is planned for release late 2004. Most publishers force developers to announce tentative release dates and consequently they very often slip.
What happened to the WorldofWar.Net Beta CD Key competition?
These have been mentioned by Blizzard and will run as part of their Fansite Program. It's very much up to Blizzard when these happen. As soon as Blizzard contact us with details of when we can run the competition we will announce it on the news page. We do not know what type of competition we will run.
Can I still sign up for the beta?
Unfortunately not, but there will be an open beta phase which anyone {anywhere} can sign up for. Details will be announced on the news page when that happens and there is no estimated time for it yet.
