I guess everyone wants to be the good guy . Humans they are extremly popular unlike orc, troll, or tuaren. On the horde side undead are really popular but not nearly as popular as humans :uhhuh:
I believe most people play human because they don't have the imagination to play something not as close to like them as possible. I also think there's alot of ignorance going on about how human equals good and orc and troll must be bad. From the WarCraft story, it's kinda the other way around... and from playing the game, it definitely is the other way around. More often than not, if you see an Alliance player, they're probably up to no good!
I just hope Blizzard is ready for just how evil the Alliance is becoming...
Also, I think Undead is popular because it's kinda the most bad-guy like. Alot of people pick them with the thoughts of wreaking havok upon the realms. But little do they know the humans, dwarves, gnomes and night elves are way ahead of them! Most peaceful race would definitely be the Tauren. Those are usually a good group of guys to hang out with!
I'm stickin' with my Troll Shamie' and hopefully soon to have Orc Hunter for me tho'.

I plan to have an Orc Shaman on the RP server(if there is one), and a Tauren Hunter on the PvP server, and probably some other characters just to test it out.

I wanted to be night elf but scince they can't be a paladin i will ethier be dwarf or human

I'm gonna make a Tauren Shamie. maybe a hunter of some other race, although from what I hear tauren with a gun sounds kinda cool. I'd have to agree with the Horde being less evil, they just want to be left alone and keep the environment healthy. the alliance likes to use up the worlds resources a bit much (or so it seems)
its true that the orcs have been evil in the past but thats not the story now a days. i view the allience as "big brother" always trying to push around the little guy.... like walmart with mom and pop stores, id go into political examples but i dont want to start a frikin hate thread so ill stick with business lol. anyway, yes the allience has good guys but just as many bad guys, same with the horde... but i see the allience as arrogant jerks who think they can push around whoever they want because they live in castles and wear gold while members of the horde live in huts and wear leather..... screw you cocky jerks!
Alot of guys, due to whatever reason, like to play as female characters. They go for pretty races it seems, guys don't play female taurens, they play female elves and humans. Now, not just females, alot of guys want to play as a handsome guy in game, so they go with humans and elves. Seems alot of people want to look good in game. I'm kinda impartial to races, i pick my class first, then i go for a race that can be said class. I'm currently leaning towards shaman, and will probaly go orc.
Aside from aestetics (sp?) is the good/bad thing other posters mentioned. I even go for this sometimes in single player games, in WC2 i played through the human campaign first, then the orcs, and other games as well. Sometimes we pick what we most identify with.
Also, sticking with friends. From above reasons and others not yet mentioned, alot of people will want to play Alliance. When all your friends/clan go Alliance, you're pretty much going Alliance too unless you want split from your friends. My friend's going undead, so i can have my shaman and still hang out.

LOL, LMAO, yea thats why the horde as time and time again beating off the attacks of the allience, humans in the world of warcraft are weak and a pretty much dieing race, if im correct Storm Wind is the last human stronghold and there are a few groups of the undead who are trying to destroy the humans with a plague. lmao, the allience is a joke. sorry to sound harsh but dragonflame killed my father................ damn father killer :lol:
and as for the playing as a female charc, yea the allience beats the horde tenfold in that department lol
