Mining

I haven't been able to find an answer on this so far but I currently have mining at 100 and I note on my mini map in the top right of the screen that some of the nodes are bright in color and some are dull.

I thought that the dull ones might be because they are beneath ground and indeed in some instances this is the case (i.e. in a cave). However this is not always the case and sometimes there are dull nodes but no caves nearby.

Can anyone tell me why they would be dull? Is it to do with mining skill level?

I have been able to spot the dull nodes right from the beggining of my mining career.

They are indeed underground, but in a cavern that you may not see the entrance to immediately. For example, there are several of these in the early areas around Dun Morogh by where you get Shimmerweed from the Troll Seers. I haven't done much research on it yet, and since you can't see what's above ground once you're inside the caves, it's mostly guesswork. However if you recall, there are many caverns around the area (Grizzled Den, Frostmane Hold) and one of those could easily have areas that run under some familiar places.

Either that, or it's like the animals stuck in rocks and trees and they're just bugged. I don't think so, but it's possible.

I personally feel that it is a bug. I have travelled Dun Morogh and am absolutely certain that there are no caves in some of the areas that I have seen this phenomenan.

I cant find an answer anywhere so I guess it is a bug :(

Ah well hopefully it will be fixed in the final build.

Sometimes I've seen ore deposits that did not actually exist. I don't worry much about it, anymore.
