High end engineering: Lil' Smoky!

a lot of engineers seem to be looking to get lil' smoky. i've seen screenshots of it, however it doesnt state if it does damage or not. its description make it seem like a normal non-combat pet.

anyone know if that is true? or will he fight like my trusty battlechicken? :)

Lil' Smoky is indeed a non-combative pet (and a very good-looking too, with lots of smoke) and does not do anything but follow you around.

I might have understood wrong but I think Lil' Smoky is goblin engineering only. And I'm guessing you're gnomish because you have a battle chicken r_r.

You should've taken goblin, as WE HAVE EXPLOSIVES.

well, explosives arent bad & a goblin engineer can just buy almost everything from a gnomish engineer if he wants to at the AH.

one of the big perks of goblin, is that you get a gun that does cone damage. but i'm a shaman, i cant use guns ;)

hence i went for battlechicken & the deathray! (which are bind on pickup, so you cant buy em @ AH)

as far as i know, lil' smoky isnt bound to any specilisation (doesnt say so on wow.net either).

The goblin dragon gun that does fire damage in a cone in front of you is a trinket, not a gun, so everyone can use it. It's rather useless tho, does so little damage.

I just confirmed this from a friend and it appears I was wrong : (. It's actually GNOMISH engineering item, not goblin. Wonder what goblin gets then..

Ah well, it's still pretty hard to get as it's one of the gifts you receive when you renew your membership card and not a very good chance to get this baby.

yea, my guildie spent a bit over 60 gold on cancelling/renewing his engineering membership to get li'l smokey for his present. Untill I have that much gold to waste I don't think I need him as a pet... though he is pretty darn cute.

Gnomish Engineering, simple pet, not combat, very noisy, obtained from renewing your membership, waiting 24 hours and checking your mail box. Then selling the stupid mithril cyllinder or whatever, tossing your membership card, and repeating. Took me 4 tries.

Goblin Engineering gets a small bomb with legs that follows you around with a lit wick.

You get a pattern in the mail, that is bind on pick up, and then you can make the pet, which is also bind on pick up. Takes a core of earth and some mithril and fused wiring etc to make.
