Engineering over 225!?!?

I've read that stupid little sticky and I've been told "Tanaris" over and over.

I'm already a Goblin Engineer but the guy in Tanaris does NOT offer me any way to get past 225. I've learned all the Goblin Engineering skills that you can at 225 and everything he teaches me is red because I need to get above 225. However I cannot... I heard of a bug where your max gets stuck. I hope I don't have it. :|

Edit: And where the heck did the WoW Community forum go? My icon is screwed yet again I see... I'm sick of fixing it.

Edit2: I see the link that I use is bad. It doesn't show the General Forum thing... everything else though.

There is 2 engineer in Gadgetzan (look for the one in the building beside de gnome girl who offers rewards for special eggs), and one of them will give you a quest to become a goblin engineer. After you complete that quest you will recieve you goblin engineer member card and get your max upgraded to 300.
Hope this helps :happy53:

Sounds like you got it Overkill. As soon as you get your membership into one of the engineering specs, then you need to skill up to 226 before leaving the zone. If you don't, then it'll remain 225.

At best you can try sending a GM ticket, but I doubt that they can help you.

I did all that. However it didn't got to 300 and it's not available to buy. I have my Goblin Engineering member card already.

master engineer

The goblin engineer does not teach engineering past 225. there is a trainer outside the inn in Gadgetzan which does. He doesn't teach much in the way of plans/schematics though, it seems blizzard expects you to farm drops for those.

Sounds like you're going to have to tough it out. Sorry. :(
IIRC, some folks have a similar bug with cooking, also stuck at 225 and unable to raise. And if my memory isn't letting me down, they've been stuck with this for some 3 months now. (High level Hunter, who needs cooking to make the high level recipes both for himself and his Pet.)

I am aware of that. I was merely stating that I checked even those whom aren't supposed to just in case.

Overkill - are you sure you talked to Buzzek Bracketswing in Gadgetzan?

He is the Master Engineer standing right next to the mail box in front of the Inn.

Just completing the Goblin or Gnomish Specialization quest does NOT automatically train you to be able to raise your skill above 225 in Engineering - you MUST pay Buzzek Bracketswing 5G(I think is the amount) to train you to Artisan Level Engineering - he is literally the ONLY Engineering NPC that can train you to raise your skill above 225.

I originally thought the same thing when I took my first Engineer to 225 Skill - and had to have it smacked into my head that I was wrong and I still had to visit Buzzek and give him the gold to give me the 225+ skill training.

Read these sections of the FAQ from the main WoW site:

Engineering FAQ link: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...ssions&t=43026

See Post #4 and #5 in the FAQ

#4 point of note - refering to the Goblin & Gnomish Specialties: These trainers are NOT, I say again NOT the Master engineer needed to further your progression. Completing this quest does NOT raise your skill limit past 225. Choosing a path simply gives you access to special schematics while excluding you from the others.

#5 point of note - refering to who can train you to raise skill above 225: The single master engineer (for all engineers) can be found in Gadgetzan in Tanaris. His name is Buzzek Bracketswing.
