Lvl 60 Rogue Mining - Nerfed?

Sorry to be a bit cryptic here, but those who know about this will know what I'm on about and will probably be a bit annoyed if I explicate what I'm referring to.

Best way until recently to make gold as a lvl 60 rogue was via mining - there is a great area that only rogues can mine, and until a last week it was superb - you could mine 15 thorium veins in an hour or so, and usually have undisputed access - hence my reluctance to name the area, most other rogues (on my server at least - Deathwing Euro) dont even know about it... and there are no posts in the official US or Euro forums about it.

Just recently though (fortunately just as I was able to afford the epic mount), I've noticed some changes. Now quite a few veins spawn as truesilver rather than thorium. Also, I used to get at least 1-2 arcane crystals, plus assorted other gems, per run at the 15 veins - the other day I did 3 circuits and got 1 arcane crystal and no other gems. Most of the veins used to be 3-4 hits, now they've mainly dropped to 2 hits, sometimes with only dense stone being in the vein. I've noticed this over 10+ runs and it seems a bit strange.

Just really looking for any comments from those in the know whether this is the case on their servers also. Just seems a bit odd to be racking in the ackers one minute, to the whole exercise being virtually pointless the next - with lucky drops on the arcane crystals (say 3-4 per run) you could easily make 100G+/hr. I guess it was a bit unfair to say the least that only rogues could effectively mine these veins (stealth and stunlock), would be interested to hear any comments on this subject - 10+ runs of seemingly terrible luck seems a bit unlikely...

Otherwise I guess I''ll just have to work for my money ;)

This is probably yet again a good example of the inability of human beings to observe and understand truly random events.

This is probably yet again a good example of a needlessly pompous post on this forum. Many thanks for taking the time Sarnat.

As I said though, 10+ runs = 150+ veins. I am quite capable of understanding random events, and as I stated in my original post I suspected bad luck - I was just looking for feedback from others who do this as to whether they'd noticed anything similar.

True (but truly). I've noted before that the WoW RNG is not as good as it could be - very streaky.

I haven't mined in sith much lately because half the time theres not even anything to mine anymore. Too many people do it nowadays. I might start again, since its still better money than anything else.

Since were on the topic of mining though, hows BRD dark iron mining? I've heard of people doing it, but im not having much luck finding unguarded deposits.

I haven't been mining much recently, but I'm pretty sure thats just bad luck. I know alot of people who still mine there frequently and I haven't heard of anything, so you're probably just having a bad week in the mines. Also seems like you were lucky at the start so in comparison its not so good. I would suggest you keep at it, its still the best money maker imo.

Thanks for the heads up - a Krol just appeared in the AH for 350G buyout (dirt cheap imo), so I'm off for a quick bit of mining ;)
