Rogue Or Mage??

Which is best for use on a PvP server? I already have a lvl 40 hunter which I will be playing MOSTLY, so I don't invision this alt to get to the level cap anytime soon. I will probably just have him as a 30-40 PvP machine. My hunter has Skinning/LW so I can make my rogue stuff if I choose him.

But the mage is better for groups... yet I'm not so worried about groups since I'm not planning on reaching 60 for a long time (way after my hunter gets there).

Rogue sounds more fun (stealth) but mage is better for the raids.

Opinions?

Judging by what I see every day on Burning Blade (50000000000000000 rogues), rouges are a better PvP choice for solo. Especially at those levels.

Alls you need to do is stealth and then gank people. Mages take more skill...and a higher level before they become overpowered.

Maybe overpowered is a bad word to use here. I'll use what a shaman said his class was...

rogues and shamans are "elegantly balanced."

Both are good - Mage is better in group PvP

( nukes so you can tag lots of players ) Plus you can sit back in the 2nd rank lines and nuke away, letting the plate wearers soak up damage.

Rogues rely on sneaking behind enemy lines and picking off those that need to get some life back. Plus they have no AOE options.

Rogues are better on 1v1 contests, the element of suprise by itself is usually enough to put all but veteran PvPers into a state of panick.

I would go for the one that goes with your playstyle - do you wan to jus sit back and nuke in a party? Or get in with those daggers for some melee solo 1v1 action?

A few problems with mages on PVP servers:

They have no stealth. Their attacks are very noticeable. They all tend to go to the same places to level. And, lastly, they have no armor.

Hence, stealth classes know where to consistently find them and pop them. Pop them they do, very fast because they have no armor.

So, if you are okay with that... you will eventually one shot people, but you will go down quickly... then go for it.

Maybe there is some kind of hope out there. I have taken down a lot of mages with my feral druid... and so have my feral druid friends. Higher level, higher rank, whatever.

Never failed killing a mage. They usually are extremely predictable. Never even had a difficult time with a mage. It is often entertaining.
