PvP on an RP-server.. How does that work?

Yes I'm kind of curios. I'm from EU and was thinking about starting an RP-char soon, I have been playing PvP on Shattered Hand for a long time now.

So now that the battlegrounds are here, I thought "Hey, might just play RP and PvP in BGs in the future". I have some questions.

One, is there a major desire for PvP on RP-servers? I mean, when I played RP (up to lvl 24), I (or my character), got very angry with seeing Warsong Lumber mills in Ashenvale Forest.. that's why I started playing PvP, cause there were no other way I could punish those invaders. But is that the general feel of the RP-game? If you are an Alliance, and you encounter an Orc for for example, is that a hostile situation? Or is it more like.. you stop for a beer and some stories? Or does that entirely depend on what classes meet and where?

And.. the balance issue. I've checked out some numbers and it says that on both EU RP-servers, alliance outnumber horde by 10 to 1... I might be wrong but... Now that BGs are out, is there a lot of fighting in them? Or does it even work at all on RP-servers?

Sorry, this got a little long. And don't mind the crappy spelling.. =)

You will probably try to bust there brains out, because you can't share stories with someone you can't talk to (language difference), and the fair majorety of the allys think the horde is all about the mindless slaugther of all living things.

PvP servers are quite saturated with people who don't like roleplaying. Roleplaying on a PvP server with friends would be fine (as I have sometimes done) but the general populace don't really care for it. When you see people it is pretty much a kill on sight thing. It breeds mercilessness and callousness quite efficiently, it was only last night that two friends and I attacked redridge and darkshire wearing only our tabards and using mere fishing rods.

What about balance-issues? I remember alot of time where the que-time for Battlegrounds on Shattered Hand (PvP) was 41 mins... just because one side wouldn't show. Now if Alliance is so overpowered (in numbers) on the RP-servers as I've heard, then is there really anyone playing battlegrounds at all? Because I'm sick and tired of the "Oh that's an equally leveled opponent.. Let's wack him!"-attitude on the PvP-servers. But I don't think I can live without atleast a little PvP. Please I need to know, really would want to play RP. :(

From what I have experenced on Argent Dawn, there is a healthy amount of people who like to pvp and role play. On the alliance side, the queue times for warsong gultch were pretty long at times untill I reached level 51. Then I don't believe I have ever waited more then 5 minutes. I believe the horde is boycotting Alterac Valley, so I have never been there.
