Suggestion: Non-Scalable WWNData Site

I know its probably considered a good feature, but I absolutly hate the way that the website tries to scale itself with your window. Its really annoying to try and look at a really skinny and long piece of information with a low resulution, medium size web browser.

Is it possible to just make stuff a standard size, and allow people to just move their scroll bars around to see stuff? Or does everyone (but me) really like the scaling feature that WWNData has?

I know I am being nit-picky, but another thing that kinda bugs me is the mouseover delay. It seems like it takes about .25-.5 seconds too long when you try to use the mouseover before it actually pops up with the mouseover.

Im not trying to bash the site or anything, just trying to give some input to help out if its accepted.

1/4 of a second too long, you are kidding right? :happy53:

Most people prefer scaling sites and it's definitely something we like to use on the sites. What resolution are you in btw?

Heh...when you mess with those small timing things...you tend to notice them. I told you it was nitpicky.

If I mouseover 1000 things in a day, that 0.25 seconds has cost me about 4 minutes of my life I can never get back :P (kidding of course)

I run at a decent res (but on a small monitor here)....it only becomes an issue when I try and multi-window stuff really.

Sounds like people like the scaling feature...oh well...

I dont really mind it as much here on the WWN site. But I remember back when I was using the GWOnline site.....oh man.

Instead of reading a piece of text that strung accross the screen like this, and it was really easy for your eyes to follow and read fluidly......

Instead you
read a peice
of text that
went down
vertically
like this
when you
had a small
website
window
opened,
making it
very hard
to follow
or read
what was
trying to
be conveyed,
and thus
making your
web window
very long
to contain
everything.

I'm actually addressing several of these issues at the moment on the test site. ( They'll be rolled onto the production site once I've tested them). My biggest bug bear was the character tab sheets scaling to the size of the text. I've rewritten these tab sheets also so that they should be a lot quicker.
