Lock up on quest turn ins?

Hello, I've just recently started a Horde character on another server to play with friends and when I turn in a quest most the time it just locks up...is this an issue with all Horde or is it just me?

I have a lvl 51 priest (alliance) and it hasn't ever happend with him.

Also when I freeze up I can move around but nothing responds to me and when I type it does't even show up in the chat line. It then just disconnects me or I have to end the program.

I know Cellar Door had this problem at one point. Try sending him a PM and see how he fixed it, if he did.

I get that too sometimes. It doesn't lock the game up totally, I can still move around but I have to log out and back in again. It's almost like I'm disconnected from the game because no NPCs will talk to me, I can't activate any skills and this all happens straight after clicking and NPC to hand in a quest.

That's what happens to me, except I can't just log back in. It drops my whole wireless connection, so I have to spend 10 minutes each time unplugging everything, waiting, plugging it back in, then waiting for the slow computer downstairs to boot up again.

Still no fix, and I tried reading threads about it on the official boards, but them being 30+ pages long when I looked, and seemingly all filled with just flaming and speculations, I still don't know if there's been any actual fix. The moderators on there mostly just fling out canned responses too, so no help there, either.

Sigh.

It does however seem to happen only in certain areas. I had a lot of problems with Booty Bay quests, and heard the same thing happening a lot to other people on the official forums in that same spot. I don't think I've had this problem with any Tanaris quests that I can remember.

Post Updates?

Has anyone been able to fix this problem? One of my guild members is having this happen to him and he's about to throw his computer out into the street.

I'd rather he not endanger the lives of passing motorists, so if anyone has been able to figure this one out, please reply here or message me. I really appreciate your time and consideration!

Sincerely,

Therenow

I was having the same problem, but have since resolved it. There are a number of threads on the official site detailing steps to take... HOWEVER, none of those worked for me (I had an nForce onboard NIC) - my solution was to go buy a cheap pci nic from wallymart. Should I have had to do that? No. But hell, 15 bucks and the problem went away. Maybe you have an old pc that you can strip one out of? If you cannot find the blue posts on how to try and fix the problem, let me know... I will dig them out for you.

Thank you, I will recomend that and see if he can solve his problem without you having to dig through the forum posts. I tried to do that myself but had a lot of trouble finding what I was looking for.

You said that you're running your system on a wireless internet connection? I would firstly reccomend connecting the system directly to your modem/router via a direct-link ethernet cable and see if the issue persists. If the issue is resolved by connecting your system by a wire, then you know that the issue is with your wireless network. Also, try disabling wireless security for a while and see if that helps. I'm watching this post now, let me know what happens after you perform these steps.

EDIT: whoa, hey i just noticed how old this topic is. You've been having this issue for this long?
