Reputation after 60

Its always been my impression that its not possible to increase reputation after 60, and recently I got it confirmed. But I noticed you can still increase with Argent Dawn Valor Tokens.

Did I miss something? Is it still possible with some factions and some quests? Do I find a list somewhere?

You absolutely can increase your reputation after 60. :) I spent the better half of 2 hours grinding furbolgs in Felwood a few nights back to raise reputation with the Timbermaws. Why? Cause I'm an Alchy and I want the transmute I can buy from them once I get my rep good with them :) I gained a reasonable amount of rep with Stormwind when completing the Great Masquerade quest. (Awesome quest that one :) ) Going though Scholomance or Stratholme gives plenty of rep with the AD. If you want to see how much reputation you gain a good UI mod to get is Reputation 0.13 http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=57 With this you can track how much rep you get after killing something or finishing a quest or whatever else gets you reputation.

Now on the other hand, it still hurts to hand in a quest and see "You gain 10000 experience." ;)

Yeah as mentioned by BraveSirRobin, you absolutely can gain reputation above 60... in general.

The thing about it is that it is greatly reduced in many cases. I'm not sure if this is purely a function of being level 60, or a function of the level difference. I suspect the level gap though, as the Scourgestone quests and some mobs in Eastern Plaguelands will give higher rep than, say, the various furbolgs do for the Timbermaw.

On the other hand, I'd like to point out how terribly out of balance some of this is. I haven't tested pure rep/time numbers for Timbermaw for farming vs. questing for rep, but some of the numbers are absolutely hideous. At level 60 is still made more sense (at least until recently) to just farm the southern Deadwood furbolgs rather than do any of the earlier repeatable quests. I have just tested the Winterfall repeatable quest but I have yet to get a rep/time number for the southern Deadwoods to compare it against. I'll do that later tonight.

Hopefully it will turn out that the repeatable Winterfall quest is actually worth doing.

And BraveSirRobin was also right about that mod, grab it.

Follow up:

I finally got around to doing that timed comparison and the results were less than stellar. Seems that even with the Winterfall repeatable quest available, I was still able to get comparable numbers just killing the lower level Deadwood furbolgs in southern Felwood.

(note: test performed with a level 60 Tauren Shaman spec'ed Ehancement / Restore)

The "Winterfall Activity" quest combined with all the furbolgs killed to complete it totalled 165 Timbermaw rep over a period of exactly 15 minutes (timed from clicking accept until clicking complete). Simply farming the Deadwoods of southern Felwood came to something in the neighborhood of 150 over 15 minutes. Naturally there are a variety of factors -- class (a class with AoE could likely mow low level furbolgs down by the dozens), competition (I was one of four people in Deadwood Village when getting these numbers, but I also got every spawn of Overlord Ror during that time), as well as factors that don't impact the numbers but might impact the decision of what to do (such as loot). Frankly, with pretty comparable numbers AND better drops in Deadwood Village, I'd probably still just go kill the low level furbolgs there rather than do the Winterfall quest (unless it was being heavily farmed).

Some numbers in the event you care (timbermaw rep returns @ 60):

Deadwood Furbolg (south) = 5

Deadwood Furbolg (north) = 5

Winterfall Furbolg = 5

Winterfall Activity (quest) = 75

All prior repeatable quests = 5-7 (not even worth doing)

As for getting rep with *other* factions, I will try to record my numbers as I work on Argent Dawn and Thorium Brotherhood, in the event that anyone is interested.

Thanks alot. Though now with the new "Donations of cloth" quests it should be MUCH easier to get exalted with a faction. Does anyone know where I can find the exact numbers for reputation increase on this matter?

the first runecloth turn in will give you 150 rep (for 60 runecloth)

after that you turn in stacks of 20 for 50 rep each.

this would mean i have to find 8080 runecloth before i get exhalted & my mount. at the current rate i would need over a 100 days. ^^ (what can i say, i just dont like to grind)

Someone gave me the (false?) impression that it is possible to get reputation with capitals - Stormwind, Orgrimmar, et cetera - Through Battlegrounds. I do not mean with the local faction like Warsong Gulch, I do mean with the major capitals. Can anyone confirm that this is possible/not possible?

when you do the taming frostwolf quest for equiping our cavalery with mounts, you gain small amounts of orgr rep each time. i think the same goes for ram hides.

however, these boosts in rep (unlike the frost wolf rep) only happen when YOU do the quest. it cant be leeched...

Are there any repeatable reputation quests for Undercity? (Often reffered to as RRQ's) BESIDES the runecloth quest.

Yesterday i ran into a problem. I was doing some quests in the Eastern Plaguelands with a lvl 57 friend, and i myself had just turned 60. We were killing lvl 59 undead, and my friend was gaining reputation with the Argent Dawn for them yet i was not. My own reputation is not even at honored yet, so it has nothing to do with my reputation being too high. I wrote a gm-ticket asking if this was intentional or if it was a bug. The only reply i got was that they tested it and everything was fully functional and i should ask a friend.
Since the gm apparently didn't feel like answering my question, i hope one of the people here will know. Should i not gain any more reputation from killing undead once i hit 60?
