Arrow Missing your reg key or Upload failing? Look in here

Hi guys

I just discovered this awesome alternative to Thottbot and I had the same missing reg key problem. Im sure a lot of people out there are not sure how to solve this so here is a quick fix for the AccountName problem which seems to be the only one that is missing from the registry.

1) Open Notepad

2) Enter the following, making sure you enter your account name properly:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\World of Warcraft\Client]
"AccountName"="ENTER YOUR ACCOUNT NAME HERE"

3) Save as WWN.reg onto your PC. Make sure you save as .reg and not .txt. You may need to select 'Save as Type' to 'All Files'.

4) Double click your WWN.reg and add it to your registry.

Once you have done this you should find that WWN will now upload correctly.

Hope this helps :bigclap:

Thanks

Posts like these deserve a sticky :-) It's a simple and easy way to get that Registry Key Set up correctly. Its such a good suggestion that I even wondered why I didn't think of it myself.

Regards,

Annunaki

Unhappy Argh!!!

I've been trying to upload my character info for some time now .. first had issues with downloading client .. now I have the most recent version of the client ... am able to log in appropriately .. ( verified that Blizzard info is correct in registry per info provided in this thread ). However, when i try uploading via the uploader client .. absolutely nothing seems to be happening.

Are you capturing log info of any kind on my system that i could check why my installation is not working correctly?

Will check further on in the forum's here .. but getting a bit frustrating ... :chinny:

Would love to be able to use this to replace cosmos!

THANKS for reading
Ork ..

animally, I have no idea what you just said.

I don't know what's going on. I can't seem to upload anything and I directed it to my saved variables folder and everything.

I dunno, uninstall seems like my best option.

Well, i made it all the way to step 4...

But then:
-----------------------------ERROR---------------------------------------
Cannot Import C:\Documents And Settings\Joseph Nichols\Desktop\WWN.reg: The Specified file is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor.

Registry

HOw do i get into the registry and how do I add it?

Scrap that last bit

I get the same as abopve reg not binary ah i hate computers

ok forget what I just said I do still hate computers but think I fixed it managed to update into registry
==========================================================
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\World of Warcraft\Client]
"AccountName"="ACCOUNTNAME"
==========================================================

Copy and paste and save as wwn.reg but make sure it is saved as ansi and it should install it into the reg no problem at all.

gonna try the uploader now
