Version 1.7.0.1 Release Notes + Letter to the Community

Dear Users,

I had made some preparations in the previous version to make the client ready for the 1.7 WoW Patch. Apparently this didn't work all too well, and it even looks like my explanations were not clear enough. The previous version was made available right before I left for a short holiday, and as we all noticed it might have been rushed out a bit too fast.

Yesterday night I finally came home and had some sleep. This morning I started shifting through approx 250 WWN Data related mails in my InBox. There were tons of BDY Parser Errors, even more LUA errors, and some more obscure problems which I couldn't have foreseen. So as I shifted through the Mails I started fixing all those problems and finally I have an initial 1.7.0.1. version ready for you guys. This version will not solve all the problems that have been reported, but it should solve 95 % of them.

If you still have problems with the new version, please make sure to use the automatic mailer ( in case of BDY Parser Errors ) which will also send in your SavedVarialbes file and the QuestCache file. This is very useful for us because it will allow us to remove the BDY parser errors a lot faster. Please also be so kind to enter your EMail address in the form you will see, so we can get back to you with some additional questions or drop you a line if we were able to simulate / solve your problems. It is really annyoing to see that some users are doing something wrong and not being able to send them a personal reply to inform them about the correct steps to take. It is even worse if you get that email for each new version we release :-(

It might also be possible that you will encounter another problem with the application. Your first resource of information and support should then be the forum. Please try to read the FAQ, and the Release Notes + Bug Reports for the current version of the application. If you can't seem to find a report for your problem, feel free to post it in the Bug Report thread for the corresponding version. If you feel that all this doesn't help you at all, you can also send a mail to wwndata@worldofwar.net, describe your problem and also include what you were doing or trying to do and I will do everything possible to help you out.

Regards,

Annunaki

1.7 ( Really, we mean it this time )

LUA
  • Fixed an error which occured with the Logging Mod when it was installed on a Windows Machine. Apparently on Windows machines you would receive an error at line 340 of our Mod whenever you clicked on an NPC ( Mac users such as myself didn't have that problem at all ).
Client
  • Fixed lots of BDY Parser Errors.
  • Upload Now functionality should be working again and is compatible with the 1.7 WoW Patch, so you shouldn't use the Upload File Special functionality anymore when your client runs on the same machine as the one on which you play WoW.
