Crit tastic?

Ok - nother probably noob question.

Here goes.

First what stat increases your chance to crit (if there is one?)
(Agility maybe?)

Second - what weapons do people know of that can add to crit chances?

Third what trinkets can I add on to up the crits?

You may have guessed, but Im curious whether you can get the crits up to a reasonable rate on a retri paladin????

Any/all answers appreciated ;)

Well, agility does, but I think strength is more reliable for damage. Crit's look pretty, but even with ret talents I think they are not as good for damage overall. Do add some dodge though too.

There's a balance to be struck with it all though, and when you have x dps agility or +crit looks more tempting, but it might not at lower.

But remember, When we're talking paladin you can heal too :p, so don't sacrifice too much. Paladin's win by outlasting not by out dpsing.

Hehe -- I love how my pally can outlast. Recently I've gotten to face mobs that run, and pull they're friends, and I'm enjoying an unprecented (in my experiance) ability to survive mutiple mob pulls in a row. I've dealt with adds -- and well! -- on my lock, but my pally has litterally gone 4-6 same-lvl mobs in a row. My lock can NOT handle that -- though handling 5-6 5 lvl lower mobs with DoTs hasn't proven to terribly difficult for him (he's lvling with the furbolgs, so taking on multiple mobs is faster, and easier).

On my Rogue around 15 agility gave me an extra % chance to crit. I don't see why this wouldn't be the same for pallies as well. Though criting and hitting SoC together often really sounds attractive - good luck :happy14:

Agility is the way to go. The way I heard it,

20 Agility =

+1% Crit
+1% Dodge
+some amount of armor and parry chance

Crits are key to a retrib pally because with a high crit rate, 20-25%, you'll have vengeance, +15% damage, active through most of the battle. Additionally, SoC proc crits are based on melee crit chance which gives you improved burst damage, which is key to getting pvp foes in Hammer of Wrath range. If you're going strength, do yourself a favor and skip vengeance (get reckoning instead).

In addition to all that offensive goodness, the insane dodge bonus of a high agility pally coupled with plate armor makes you a rogue's worst nightmare and very capable against any melee class.

Don't worry, in the next patch we get a +8% speed increase for two talent points! That'll help us finally catch up to fearing priests & warlocks, blinking mages, wolfing shamans, cat druids, and cheetah hunters...

As it doesnt stack with well, anything, I dont know how that 8% is going to make much difference. Itll make 0 difference on horse (carrot + spurs = pursuit2), and minimal difference on foot. Add in the fact many of those class specific spells are much higher than 8% (40ish) and its a waste of two talent points, really.

Damn, can't edit my previous post... but, anyway, I appear to have once again forgotten that heavy sarcasm does not translate well to that internet thing  . Sorry 'bout that, Grendo.
