This Parser error I was able to generate when trying to Upload File Special with a target file named
C:\Programmer\World of Warcraft\Interface\addons\wownetexport\wownetexport.lua (dated 05.01.06 16:00). A Parser Error mail screen pops up, but trying to send the mail gains a message
”Socket error # 10061 Connection refused”.
That is not the current .lua file though - most current .lua file is
C:\Programmer\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<MyAccountName>\SavedVariables\wownetexport.lua (dated 23.01.06 08:47)
Using this file as target generates no parser error, instead I get the "List index out of bounds [0]" message box, both using Upload Now and Upload File Special
I have restarted WoW dozens of times since this problem started appearing; I have restarted the client, reinstalled the client and rebooted the computer several times, but the problem persists. I would like to send the current .lua file, but I don't know the proper mail address to send it to. I have tried appending it to this message as plain text in the mail.
The message "The client was unable to find any data files ..." was due to the fact that Windows is a Danish language version, where the standard Program Files directory is renamed "Programmer" - I had overlooked that in the options screen earlier, and earlier versions of the client showed no sensitivity to this (was able to find hte correct directory by itself). This version of the client apparently has "forgotten" that ability. WoW Install directory is now listed in the Options screen as
C:\Programmer\World of Warcraft\
and the client has no problem finding the data file anymore. That at least is a step forward :-)
